Judie’s Gear Diary – 2003-05-29

Well, it's time for my family to pack the car and head to Florida to visit relatives for a week! We're going to be driving for around 10 hours a day over a two day period – each way – so you can imagine the preparations that are taking place to make sure that no one gets too bored.
I have plenty of eBooks on my T|T and a new “Juice” charger from iGo to try out. Interestingly enough, the Juice unit can charge my laptop and my PDA at the same time whether from a car or plane power port, or from a wall plug. I'm also bringing along my favorite new time waster: Pipe Frenzy, by NewbornGames Productions. If you like games where you have to add pieces of “pipe” to allow the “water” to flow for as long as possible, then you ought to take a look at it too. The graphics are amazing!
While in Florida, we will be in Gainesville (Go Gators!), Lakeland, and Tampa – to visit Busch Gardens. Steve is also going to do the Richard Petty King's Experience at the Disney racetrack in Orlando. FUN! Julie thinks we are crazy for driving, but there is something to be said about being able to stop when you want on the way – and having your own vehicle once you have arrived. Today, I have a 3:00 appointment to get a Sirius Satellite Radio receiver installed in our Expedition – so we shouldn't get bored in the tunes department! :0)
