Melody Shiue, an industrial designer of the University of New South Wales Australia won an award for her product design called, PreVue. It is a device that employs latest stretchable display technology over the abdominal region, letting other family members to connect with the fetus. The PreVue gives you the chance to watch the baby’s growth inside the womb and let the other family members watch the baby as well. I don’t know how safe it is to expose the baby for a long periods of ultrasound during the pregnant time, but the concept is interesting. No details on actual product development or release date.
More details and pictures can be found at the Tuvie site.

Are you sure this wasn’t announced 11 days ago? It sounds like that type of product…
I don’t think this is real. I think the idea is it’s something we might have in the future. The picture gives it away: ultrasounds are nowhere near that good.
The website says
“Have a futuristic design/concept? Or you think it’s going to be in the future? Feel free to submit your work (or you can inform us about someone’s great designs) here, email us: p u b l i c a t i o n [at] t u v i e dot c o m.”

I think the emphasis here is on concept. There is no sign that the technology for this exists. Ultrasound doesn’t look that good.
Sorry about the double (now triple post). My post didn’t appear for awhile so I did another one. Feel free to remove any of them!
YUCK!
