NEWS – The James Brand is well-known with EDC fanatics for making gear that combines precision engineering with clean, modern lines, and their latest product, The Lowe wallet, follows that same philosophy. Instead of creating another generic card holder, they set out to design something smarter and for everyday carry. The result is a slim, refined wallet that balances durability with ease of use.
The Lowe stands out because of its clever design details. At the core is the brand’s new Pinch-Tech system, which securely locks in up to six cards with consistent tension. Whether you carry a single card or a full stack, the grip is reliable and requires no adjustments or moving parts that could eventually fail. Inside the aluminum case, a subtle ramp helps cards slide up naturally with just a thumb motion, while smoothed interior edges guide them back in with ease. On the outside, a flush-mounted silicone band expands to hold extras such as cash or receipts, giving you flexibility without compromising the slim profile.
For anyone used to a bulky leather wallet, the size is what really makes The Lowe impressive. At only 0.40 inches thick and weighing just 2.1 ounces, it’s actually thinner than a pack of gum. That means it slips neatly into a front pocket without adding bulk or discomfort. The contoured frame and lack of visible hardware make it look and feel smooth in hand, while the aluminum construction provides natural RFID protection along with long-lasting durability.
The specifications underline its practicality. Made from 6063-T5 aerospace-grade aluminum, the case measures 3.5 by 2.6 inches, making it compact but capable of carrying daily essentials. The silicone band is crafted with a 70A durometer blend, striking the right balance between grip and flexibility so it doesn’t stretch out or damage cards.
For everyday carry fans, The Lowe represents the kind of upgrade that feels like a natural evolution. It trims away the unnecessary bulk of traditional wallets, avoids the fragile mechanics of spring-loaded card ejectors, and focuses on simplicity done right. It’s easy to see this becoming a favorite for those who want a slim, comfortable wallet that looks as good as it functions.
The James Brand The Lowe wallet is available starting September 30, 2025, for $119 through the company’s website, Amazon, and select retailers.

The website says the thickness is 0.40 inches.
I think the .35 inches was listed on their press release which was what I used to write the news post. I’ve updated the post with the new measurement.
I appreciate the opportunity to leave a review of this wallet. I think it is quite the flawed product. The cards you insert into this thing do not fan out spread apart like they show in the photo. When you push out your 5 or 6 cards, they all begin their journey evenly on top of each other, and stay that way. And it’s not a smooth operation to get the middle card you want out. (Of course, you can easily pull out the top and bottom cards.) You can try to push in or pull out to try and fan the cards, but it’s not an instant smooth movement, or it will be you have to pull out all of them, then grab the card you want from the pile, and then push the rest back into the wallet. The picture on their website and thus here shows the cards fanned out; and there’s no picture at all that shows they do not push out this way. For an expensive $119 wallet, I think the cards should absolutely push out the way depicted in the photos, or at least make it clear in advance that their photo showing the cards fanned out might be misleading for some people.
The second flaw involves the all black version of this wallet. It absorbs smudges and shows them right away and prominently. So badly, in fact, I would never keep a $119 wallet that does this. They should have applied a permanent oleophobic coating when they saw it shows a lot of smudges.
All of the above is disappointing considering that the small size and low weight are both great and welcome. For anyone who does not mind that the cards do not fan out, I recommend avoiding the all-black version. Perhaps the silver version doesn’t show the smudges.
Hopefully if a Lowe Wallet 2.0 is ever released, the cards will fan out, and there will be no smudge issue with the all-black version. Thank you.
Ugh, thanks for letting us know. Sounds like the Groove Life wallets might be better.

I, too, was misled by the depiction of cards perfectly fanned out in the marketing photos. There is no way to achieve this effect.
I submitted a review at their website for this product so that anyone who would go to the website would be advised in advance, but the company refused to post it. Apparently, this is one of many companies that will only allow positive reviews to be shown. Please know that I also included the positives of this wallet in my review, so it was not a completely negative review.
