REVIEW— I’ve worked with and on electronic devices for at least 30 years, and one thing I’ve learned is that they’re all dust magnets. In the past, I’ve relied on canned air or an air compressor to eliminate the nuisance. Years ago, I bought a rechargeable air duster but was quickly disappointed with its performance. I don’t even recall what happened to it after that. I think I gave it away and have stayed away from these types of devices ever since. Then the KiCA Jet Fan 2 came up for review and I figured what the heck? I’ll throw my name in the hat and see if I can review it. Surely by now, companies have figured out how to make these things work well, right? Right?

What is it?

The KiCA Jet Fan 2 is a compact and powerful air duster with numerous attachments to expand its uses.

What’s included?

  • KiCA Jet Fan 2
  • 3 different nozzles
  • USB Type C charging cable
  • Vacuum chamber
  • Filter
  • Vacuum tube
  • Brush head

Powerful 101000RPM brushless motor for 20 m/s air thrust

Compact and lightweight design for travel and outdoor use
Fashionable and durable aviation-grade aluminum shell
Versatile uses for cleaning, drying, inflating, and dusting hard-to-reach areas

Design and features

First thing I noticed when taking the KiCA Jet Fan 2 out of the box was the build quality. It’s made from aviation-grade aluminum and has a little bit of heft to it. Does weight equate to being built well? No, not always but considering the last rechargeable air duster I used was about 4 times the size and mostly plastic, the Jet Fan 2 leaves a good first impression.

The KiCA Jet Fan 2 is powered by a brushless motor that can produce up to 45 mph wind or 20 meters per second. KiCA even says on their site that the motor can run up to 101,ooo RPM. I have no way to confirm these claims, but this little thing can move some air!

Speaking of little, it is a very compact unit, lending itself to its usability and portability.

Controls on the KiCA Jet Fan 2 are simple enough. There’s a button and a slider. Press and hold to power on the unit. Press the button once to power it on and then adjust the slider to the preferred speed.

With its included accessories, the Jet Fan 2 can also be used as a vacuum cleaner.

Thankfully, KiCA also made the Jet Fan 2 rechargeable via the USB Type C port on the bottom of the unit. The holes on the bottom are meant as heat vents. They included a USB A to C cable but no power block.

Performance

In my view, the performance of the KiCA Jet Fan 2 is fantastic. I have no way of knowing if it’s the most powerful device like this available, but I do know it’s great for my purposes. If you’ve ever read any of my keyboard reviews, you’ll know I’m a keyboard nerd and I hate a dirty keyboard. The Jet Fan 2 is perfect for this. With the included nozzles, I can get in all the nooks and crannies to keep crumbs, hair, and dust to a minimum. No more having to “burp the baby” then cleaning up that mess. My favorite use for it, though, is actually the vacuum function. Honestly, I never really thought I’d use that function other than just testing. I was pleasantly surprised, though, when using it to clean out the filament bits from my enclosed 3D printer. It sucked them right up. No more dragging out the big Kirby. I can use the KiCA Jet Fan 2 and be done that much quicker. KiCA also says it can be used to inflate items like air mattresses pool floats, and the like. I didn’t have any of those to test, but I’m sure the Jet Fan 2 could do the job.

What I like about KiCA Jet Fan 2

  • Performance
  • Build quality
  • Numerous accessories included in the kit
  • USB C charging
  • Small size

What needs to be improved?

  • A charging block would be appreciated

Final thoughts

I’ve been very happy with the KiCA Jet Fan 2. It exceeded my expectations. I keep it near my desk now. It’s so convenient and performs well, both as an air duster and vacuum. I have no idea about longevity. I’ve only had it about a month but so far there have been no issues. If you’re in the market for something like this, then I’d suggest you check this one out.

Price: $89 for the base unit, $119 for the kit that includes the vacuum accessories
Where to buy: KiCA or Amazon

Nice review, but one question: how loud is it?

Too bad you didn’t have an anemometer to actually measure the wind force. A well-respected YouTuber did a long video where he bought a bunch of similar devices and tested them in comparison with a can of compressed air and an actual shop style air compressor. Only one battery device actually outperformed a can of compressed air, but it discharged the battery completely with just a few minutes of run time. But, the shop compressor broke the anemometer.

  4. I see your point but I’m not using this for long periods of time and canned air is great, but it runs out. Also my air compressor spits out condensation at times so I wouldn’t want to use that on electronics.
It would’ve been nice to see just how much force it produces though.
