DIYers, makers, and anyone else who likes to repair or create things will be interested in learning about FORMCard. What is it? It’s moldable bio-plastic cards that come in different colors. To use it, you put the card in hot water, which softens it up enough to become pliable. Shape it as you wish and when it cools, it retains the shape. But the best part is that it’s reusable again and again. Just put it back in hot water and reshape. FORMCards are as strong and durable as nylon and are food safe and biodegradable. You can find more info at formcard.com and order a mixed color package of 3 from Amazon for $7.50

Sorry the headline on this article is stupid. FORMCard is a completely different product. It’s like saying glue is like a nail only completely different.
In any case, low temperature thermo-plastic has been around for 20 years. I think the most well known is Shapelock (http://www.shapelock.com). It comes in granule form which is far more useful than the flat plastic shape of FORMCard. And it’s far, far cheaper.
That was kind of the point of the title… Made you look though, didn’t it? 🙂
Haha. Ok. I’ll give you the credit on that one. 😎
Cool idea. I primarily use InstaMorph thermoplastic from Amazon for this kind of thing. If I need color I’ll add a few of their color pellets and mix the pigment in. If I need a sheet format, I just melt and press flat.
These pre-formed sheets seem a little expensive.
