Last fall, we told you about the Oyster ebook lending service that gave you unlimited access to ebooks on your iOS devices. At the time, they had 100,000 books in their lending library. Now, they have more than 500,000 titles available. They’ve made a lot of improvements in their reading app, too, with new typography, new layouts, refreshed color palette, and a new high-contrast theme that’s great for reading by the pool. There’s even a night mode, now. The biggest change in the Oyster service is that they’ve just made an Android app available for all Android devices, Nook HD, and Kindle Fire. You’ll need a paid subscription to the Oyster service, but the Android and iOS apps are free. Download the Android app, Kindle Fire app, or the iOS app and get a free 1-month trial of the Oyster lending service.

I just read this article and signed up for Oyster. I’m on my computer using a web browser. Much easier to use.
Until I discovered that Oyster doesn’t have a search function on their website.
D’uh-uh?
Stupid. If they’re going to start a project and send out a press release, they should have their act together.
Now I have to drag out my Kindle, download the app, and look for books.
Stupid.
Signed up. Looked around. Did some searches. Cancelled my membership.
Still not enough books.
