NEWS – Apple dropped its latest Black Unity collection piece today. The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop honors Black History Month by weaving Pan-African flag colors into a design that rewards closer inspection.
What sets this band apart from standard Braided Solo Loops is the layered color work. Apple’s precision-braiding machinery weaves recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultrathin silicone threads, creating a band that reveals multiple shades of red, green, and black when you look closely. That tonal depth gives the design more visual interest than a flat tricolor approach would have delivered. The texture feels soft against the wrist while remaining sweat and water resistant, built for daily wear rather than display.

Compatibility covers Apple Watch Series 4 and later, Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models. Sizing runs 0 to 12.
Apple tied this release to community investment, announcing grants supporting organizations that promote connection and creativity in under-resourced communities worldwide. Recipients include Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City. These grants extend Apple’s existing commitment to economic, educational, and creative opportunities globally. Black creatives and allies at Apple designed this band alongside previous Black Unity releases, and the connection theme runs through both the product and the charitable component.

The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop costs $99 and is available now through the Apple Store online and in the Apple Store app. Retail locations will have it later this week. For Apple Watch owners who want their band to say something beyond basic black or white silicone, this annual Unity release delivers at a price point consistent with Apple’s premium band lineup.
