REVIEW – I hate when I am listening to something on my earbuds and they don’t stay in my ears. I don’t enjoy constantly needing to adjust the position so I can hear better. The SoundPEATS Clip1 earbuds find a way to comfortably hook onto your ears, and let you focus on the sounds, without all the interruptions.

Design and features
I have been using noise canceling earbuds for quite a while. While I really enjoy the ability to tune everything out, I don’t enjoy listening to myself breathe or feeling like I am underwater. I don’t understand how some people can have earbuds in their ears all the time without going crazy. I was very curious to see how the clip on variety would sound and feel in comparison. The SoundPEATS did not disappoint.

The case that these earbuds come in is so slick., and not in the cool way. It would literally slip out of my hands every time I tried to open it. I wish that there were some holes of any kind to add a lanyard, or something similar. As it is, the case has nothing that I can attach something to. I went to the dollar store and found a small zipper pouch that can help me carry these around, but it’s not the best fit. Anything is better than nothing though, and at least I can keep them out of reach without losing them.
One of my favorite things about these earbuds is that they work independently. They don’t have a left or right marking. Either bud can go in either ear. The case has a magnetic snap to grab these earbuds and charge them. Because I only like to wear one earbud at a time, I can get a whole lot more play time out of these little buds. I can easily listen to a book, or music, and still be able to hear what is happening and keep my children from killing each other. When I am ready to relax, I don’t have to decide which side I like to lay on and choose the coordinating earbud. I can just switch ears. It really is nice.

I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. I was worried that not having something shoved into my ear canal, would provide a less than enjoyable environment. However, I have not found this to be the case. Sure, I might have to turn it up a little more at certain times, but as a whole, I feel I can hear just about everything..
At first it was a little tricky putting the earbuds on . It doesn’t matter where on your ear the buds sit, just find a spot that feels comfortable. There have even been times that I have forgotten that I am even wearing the earbud. Almost like an earring.
There are three touch points on the earbuds. The top of the arch is where I most commonly tap, but the front or back of the earbuds also are available. Tapping it a different number of times has different actions. Tap once for volume up or down, tap twice for pause/play tap three times for next.

Bluetooth was easy to connect. I’m not entirely fond of the way it connects. It feels like the earbud simultaneously connects to both devices that I have connected them to. It depends on which one is playing. The earbud chooses the one that is playing. If both are playing, sometimes I have to turn off one device to force it to choose the other. Once the earbud is connected to a device, it tries to stay for the most part. However, if you pause and have something going on the other device, the earbuds will switch. There have been moments when I make my children turn the Bluetooth, so that I don’t have to share the audio.
I really wish there was some sort of finding device installed into these earbuds. I spend a lot of time looking for things, and it is very helpful when I have the ability to locate, or have something make noise. It only makes it worse that the earbuds are small and black. I think that’s one reason I enjoy being able to place one in my ear and wear it all day.
The battery is supposed to be able to last up to 40 hours of play time. I can wear one of the earbuds all day without the battery dying. And most days I am constantly listening to something. I’m sure it would last longer, but I take it out at night and recharge. The color on the case depicts the level of battery.
As hard as I’ve tried, I still cannot figure out how to adjust the volume with tapping. No matter what I’ve tried, it just doesn’t do anything. I can get all the other functions to do something, and will stop and resume all day long, but have yet to be able to adjust the volume without help from a device.
I love that I can wear these earbuds all day and it doesn’t feel like there’s something blocking all the sound. It is important for me to be able to easily pause or play while doing my everyday routines. They are comfortable enough that I forget that I’m wearing them most of the time. The sound has good quality, and I am pleasantly surprised with the base. I am usually worried that there will be no base, and everything will sound high and tinny, or that the base will drown everything out. These earbuds seem to have a decent balance. There are times when I am listening to an audio book it feels distant or muffled, but can usually be helped by repositioning, or taking a break and letting the earbuds rest.

Final thoughts
The comfort of these earbuds is the biggest draw for me. I can place one in my ear and wear it all day comfortably. I can easily pause and play without needing to access my device. The sound has a decent quality, and I feel that the audio is usually clear. If you have these connected to more than one device, they grab onto which ever one is playing, and can switch back and forth if you pause. The case is very slippery and doesn’t have anything to attach to for easier finding and carrying. The batter lasts a long time, and the magnetic charging feature for the earbuds works awesome. You don’t have to worry about left or right earbuds. They both work great in either ear.
What I like about X
- Sleek design
- Comfortable to wear all day if you want
- Earbuds can work in either ear, no left or right
- Decent sound
- Easy and auto connect to Bluetooth
What needs to be improved?
- Connects to more than device and just jumps to which ever one is playing
- Case doesn’t have the ability to attach a lanyard/something to find or carry the case with.
- Easily lost, no tracking or noise feature
