I simply love nice bags almost as much as I love technology. I need a good bag for work, but also for the weekends, since I love to load up my Macbook Pro, a camera and various notebooks depending on what I’m working on. I had the opportunity to review the Case Logic LoDo satchel, so let’s take a look.

The Case Logic LoDo Satchel is quite a big bag. It has a padded compartment that fits a 15″ Macbook Pro or similarly sized laptop with room to spare. The dimensions of the bag are 17.3 x 8.3 x 11 in, and weighs 1.83 pounds.
There is a small brand logo at the lower right hand corner of one of the pockets.
The material of the bag is cotton and nylon. The color I received is a warm grey with tan leather handles and zipper pulls, which gives it a nice look and blends in with anything you wear. The strap is adjustable and padded.
The back of the bag has a cotton strap useful to loop into a luggage handles when traveling.
On either side of the bag, there are nice sized pockets that are large enough to fit a standard water bottle. This is pretty useful when traveling. There is a removable and adjustable shoulder strap, which is comfortable.
There are front accessory pockets that have a magnetic snap closure, which is great for a mobile phone, random gadgets, pens or small notebook.
The inside one of the pockets there is a key clip, and an extra pocket.
Here’s a closer look at the nice leather handles and zipper pulls. Case Logic pays attention to detail.
The dark metal clips feel rugged and strong. There is no worry that your strap will come undone and drop your gear!
The zipper on the main compartment of the bag opens up very wide, which makes it very easy to access your gear.
I was able to tuck my 15″ Macbook Pro, iPad, notebooks, and extra small items in the big internal zipper pocket.
On the inside of the bag, besides the laptop compartment, there is another protective pocket for a full iPad or iPad Air. There’s a small netted side pocket good for another bottle, or something like a phone or battery pack. There is no padding on the bottom of the bag.
I really enjoyed using the Case Logic LoDo satchel, but wish it was a little bit smaller. It’s great for travel, but I wouldn’t recommend it for everyday use unless you are very tall/and or can carry a lot of gear. I’m only 5’4″, so it was a bit wide for me to carry, plus I didn’t fit everything I own inside of it. 🙂 The quality is top notch, and the pockets are a plenty, so if you need a workhorse of a bag, give this a try or check out the huge selection at their site!
