REVIEW – I have been an Apple junkie since the 4S came out, so the Android ecosystem is a whole new frontier to me. My aunt, however, is getting into Android, so I thought I would try one myself to see how far they’ve come. The TABWEE T90 11 inch tablet is affordable, has a decent size screen, and came with accessories that could be quite useful. Let’s see how well it performs!

Design and features

As I mentioned, it has been a long time since I’ve used an Android device. It is not due to disliking Android; my family is in the iOS ecosystem, so it’s just easier overall for them. My extended family uses Android, however, and when trying to figure out a tablet for my aunt, I realized I was no help at all when asked for advice.

The TABWEE T90 tablet comes with Android 15 installed, though after checking for updates and updating, the settings shows Android 16. (Spoiler: It’s still Android 15 after noticing there was no change.) Nothing on the tablet screamed TABWEE T90, and the settings looked to be quite vanilla Android. I was extremely happy with that, as I remember my father dealing with bloatware on his Android tablet years ago.

Prior to starting up the T90, I put the screen protector on, which has always been a challenge for me. While I was left with a few bubbles, I was quite pleased after adjusting it several times to make sure to protector fit with the case. After the protector was on, I tossed the included case on, which was extremely easy to do, and was ready to rock and roll.

If holding the T90 tablet horizontally, the speakers are at the bottom, the charging port and MicroSD card slot is on the left side, the 3.5 mm headphone jack is on the top left corner, and the front facing camera is at the top. Also on the top you’ll find the power and volume buttons. With the case on, all ports and buttons were easily accessible.

To me, the 11 inch tablet is right at that sweet spot, and the weight of the TABWEE T90 tablet was surprisingly light. It was easy to lean back and hold the tablet upright while playing around on a game or watching a video. Speaking of video, the speed of opening the YouTube app was just a split second longer than the speed on my 2024 iPad Pro. That was an unexpected yet pleasant surprise.

I know taking a picture of two screens is difficult to truly see color, but it was the best way I could show the color difference side by side. The iPad Pro has a richer color for sure, with the TABWEE T90 being somewhat washed out on the very light colors in a side by side comparison. Even with the brightness turned down, you can see the blacks aren’t truly black. While the picture shows the color extremely washed out, the whiteness is about half that when looking at it in person. It does have more color than the picture of a screen shows.

There wasn’t a big difference between the refresh rate quality, as I saw very minimal smearing when watching HD videos and streams. I had no complaints when watching Battlefield 6 demo streams. As you can see in the picture, the colors are bright and vivid on their own.

At night, I definitely missed the auto-dimming that my phone has, though it isn’t terribly difficult to change it manually. I was able to dim it enough to keep my retinas from burning at night. During the day, I took it outside and tossed the brightness to 100%. It worked well, and I could see everything quite clearly.

I did test out the Gemini AI a bit, just to see what it could do. I took a picture of a cat toy and had it write a story for me about it, and I requested that it create a picture of a cat. It processed both the image and story in roughly the same amount of time and seemed on par with what I would find using it on the PC.

One app I noticed did not do well was the Pokémon TCG app. It was the first app I tested, and it is definitely not optimized for either tablets in general or this tablet. Other random games I downloaded worked just fine and only would start slowing the tablet down after being on the app for a long time.

When it comes to audio, the sound quality on the TABWEE T90 was nothing to write home about. There is no fullness to the sound, but you can hear everything clearly. I would not listen to music on the T90, but listening to streams and in game sounds was just fine.

The camera quality was definitely lacking with the TABWEE T90, especially indoors with medium to low light. Outdoors, it was usable, but don’t rely on this for taking any sort of high quality photos. There are three cameras on the back with different zoom levels. You can see the side by side quality in the row of pictures below. I also did a video call with myself and, while the front camera did not lag, at 5 megapixels, the quality just wasn’t there. It’ll do, but don’t expect much.

tabwee t90 2
I did set up facial recognition for unlocking the T90, which works, it just is a little awkward as the camera is in the middle of the long side of the screen, rather than the top. It is far easier to just type in the pass-code in my opinion.

Keeping the brightness at 50%, I did a battery drain test using live YouTube videos. It dropped roughly 10% per hour of use, which shocked me, as I was expecting a maximum of 7 hours of use. Instead, the battery finally died at the 10 hour mark. I thought maybe the YouTube app was battery efficient, but even constantly running one of those ‘idle’ games that require you to watch copious amounts of ads lasted far longer than I thought it would.

With the included charging brick and USB-C cable, it took roughly 4.5-5 hours to fully charge. It didn’t look like it stopped charging once full, so I wouldn’t recommend sitting it on a charger for days on end. Using my standard charging area, it gave roughly 4 hours as an estimate to fully charge. Just a side-note, it did take a while to start the tablet up when it had shut down from a dead battery.

As for the included accessories, I was quite pleased with the protective case and screen protector. They didn’t add much bulk and weight. The case cover also can be utilized as a stand, which worked well for sitting on my desk and watching videos. My cat can also attest to that as she was watching bird videos during the battery test.

While the stylus was a standard, basic rounded stylus that worked as expected, the tablet stand was not strong enough to hold the weight of the tablet. Every time I went to rest the tablet on it, it just flattened out. It is usable with a phone, however, though it is too big to use for a phone stand on a day to day basis.

tabwee t90 13
The keyboard and mouse worked better than anticipated, with easy pairing and quick response times. While the keyboard is small, it was mostly easy to type on, though the tiny space-bar was something that I had to manage. It was actually quite different using a mouse with a tablet but it worked surprisingly well.

Final thoughts

Overall, I was initially underwhelmed after trying my first app on the TABWEE T90 tablet, however upon trying out other apps designed for tablets, I was quite pleased. The battery life was so much better than anticipated. I wish the brightness automatically adjusted and the cameras were better, but if you can snag it for $129.99 or below, it’s a solid little tablet.

What I like about the TABWEE T90 Android tablet

  • Great battery life
  • Bright display
  • Easy to pair accessories

What needs to be improved?

  • Slows down a bit after a lot of use
  • Tablet stand doesn’t work well with tablet
  • No auto brightness
  • Cameras are definitely lacking
