REVIEW – Cats are finicky creatures. However, I really start to feel bad for those cats come August. It is just plain hot. And if I’m miserable without my fur coat, I can only imagine how crazy the heat is with their fur coat which also brings about all of the shedding and allergies and everything. That is just a recipe for disaster. The FeelNeedy cat steam brush can help brush your cat to help lower the amount of dander and shedding, but also has a steam feature to help your pet stay cool and clean.

Design and features
I love cat brushes that make removing the fur so easy. It also reduces the amount of shedding, and keeps the knotting and clumps to a minimum.
I have mixed feelings about the steam feature. My cats freak out if they see the steam before I start brushing their coats, so I wait until I have started to brush them before turning it on. However, it does blow out a nice cool steam that keeps my kitties from getting too hot. It helps clean a little of the top coat, and does a great job of brushing. The steam makes it slightly more difficult to remove the hair from the bristles, but it also keeps the hair from flying away or sticking to everything. It definitely gets rid of the static.
The problem of using water when I brush my cats is the smell. While it’s not on the same level as a wet dog, there is still a smell. This brush doesn’t take away the stink, I’ve toyed around with the idea of adding essential oils just to help them smell better, but still need to look into which oils the cats are more compatible with. Having outside cats also means that they are dirty more often than not. And this brush does help somewhat, but if I really want a clean animal there is no substitution for just dumping them in the tub.
The brush is super cute. The little teddy bear face has a nose piece that comes out so you can add water. I wish there was some kind of attachment that would keep the nose piece from falling out. It is small enough to get lost and just easy enough to remove that it becomes a problem.
The battery lasted quite a while, and has indicator lights to show how much power is left. A little red light comes on when the battery is depleted, or very close to being zero. I love that it charges with the USB-C which is very quickly becoming the only cord available in my house. Why make it harder to find each individual type of cord when you can find one cord to charge them all.
My super fluffy Mama Kitty has thoroughly enjoyed this brush. She is miserable this time of year with so much fur and extra heat. She’s a dark color also which makes it even worse. She will very calmly sit and let you brush her fur even with the steam. The look of the steam scares some of my cats, and so I will wait to turn on the steam until they are comfortable with the brushing first. The power button is on the bottom of the handle, which is very convenient. It is also low enough that it doesn’t get pushed accidentally while using the brush.
The lever to push the fur out of the bristles is very easy to use, and we all enjoy the satisfaction it gives when all of the hair smooshes off on the first try. Even without the water features. I love this kitty brush. It’s large enough to be effective for all the cats, but small enough that it doesn’t take up that much room for storage. I wish there was a way to hang it up somewhere so I could have easy access.
Sometimes simple is best, and this brush is just beyond the simple point. It has all the basic tried and true features that I love about a cat brush, but adds a bonus feature of emitting a cool steam to help clean and cool down the cat.
Final thoughts
I have thoroughly enjoyed using this brush. The simplistic design makes it feel more user-friendly, and the special steam feature sets it apart from competitors. My cats don’t know that they are being cleaned with water, but I get to feel like I am helping to groom them and keep them cool during these hot summer months. I wish that there was a way to hang it up so I could keep track of it better without cluttering up my counter space. The ease of removing the cat hair is also a huge selling point for me. I have a long-haired calico; this brush has made a huge difference.
