REVIEW – Visiting Bullhead City, Arizona in the summer is….well….hot..like really hot. Good thing the Colorado River, Lake Mohave, and public and private pools help make the heat more bearable. But our puppy hasn’t developed his love for the water yet, so he usually lies near the pool, under some shade. I thought the OGERY F21 Camping Fan might help bring some relief to him, so I received the fan and headed to the heat. Read on to see how well it kept the little guy cool(er).

Design and features
The OGERY F21 Camping Fan is one of the new products by OGERY. My fellow reviewer Mike Dixon (click here to read his other reviews) reviewed the OGERY F11 Camping Fan earlier this year in May and liked the product and was looking forward to “getting a lot of use in my garage, around the patio, and while camping, as soon as the weather warms up a bit.” In many ways, the OGERY F21 Camping Fan and F11 Camping Fan are very similar with just a few differences. On the F11, the control unit and battery sit horizontally and do not include a stand. The F21 orients the control unit and battery in a portrait direction, giving the fan a sturdy base.
The other additional feature of the OGERY F21 Camping Fan is the included telescoping tripod stand. The stand when collapsed, is about 16 inches tall and can adjust up to 48 inches fully extended. I like the versatility. At its highest extension, it is the perfect height to circulate air while I’m sitting at my desk. Each section of the trip stand has a hole to use with the included stakes, which will stabilize the fan and prevent it from falling over when bumped. There is also a built-in retractable hook to hang the OGERY F21 Camping Fan from any number of places.
The model I received to review had a built-in 20,000mAh battery, according to the FAQ on the OGERY site, which runs about 60 hours on low speed. There is an option for the higher capacity battery (30,000mAh). As mentioned above, four blue LEDs indicate how much battery is left, or how far it is along while being charged. A handy feature is the single USB-A and single USB-C ports along the back of the control/battery unit. These ports can be used to charge other devices at 20W. The user manual recommends a PD 20W or QC 18W charging brick to charge the OGERY F21 Camping Fan.
There are some nice features on the OGERY F21 Camping Fan and the included remote performs the same functions:
- Power indicator
- Timer indicator & Timer button (can be set in increments of 1h-2h-4h-8h)
- Oscillation indicator & Oscillation button (adjustable at 30º, 60º, 90º, 120º)
- Lighting button (press to cycle through brightness levels)
- Sleep button (press the button to turn on/off all indicator lights)
- Fan speed knob/Power button (push the knob to turn on/off the fan)
Assembly, Installation, Setup
The setup was straightforward. Everything was packed nicely and following the directions, the OGERY F21 Camping Fan was ready to be used in just a few minutes. The OGERY F21 Camping Fan came with 3 of the 4 charging LEDs lit. The included remote has a battery pre-installed, I just need to pull out the plastic “stopper” to engage the battery.
Performance
I first started up the OGERY F21 Camping Fan while it was only 75% charged (as indicated but the LEDs). I set the fan speed to MAX by turning the knob clockwise until it beeped twice. The knob will continue to spin but once you hear the beeps, you know you’ve either reached the maximum or minimum fan speeds. Outdoors, the wind flow wasn’t inspiring, so I decided to completely charge the OGERY F21 Camping Fan to see if the performance would be any different with a full charge. This was not the case. The fan circulated the same amount of air at 75% as it did at 100%. I wasn’t able to objectively measure airflow, but outside, it felt the same. An interesting observation, when plugged in to charge, the fan will drop its speed. The OGERY F21 Camping Fan does allow use while charging, just at a reduced speed.
The light around the shroud of the fan has 3 levels that you can cycle through by repeatedly pressing the ‘Light’ button.
Final thoughts
After using the OGERY F21 Camping Fan over the last month, I came away with a generally good impression. The included battery for power, the telescoping stand, the embedded hook, the built-in light, and the remote are all extras that aren’t found on many other fans. It is made from heavy-duty plastic that is IPX4 rated, meaning it’s waterproof to splashes, but not submersion, excellent for poolside use. The features are outstanding!
I think for use in an open space, the airflow doesn’t seem very powerful. But once you use the OGERY F21 Camping Fan in an enclosed space, like a tent, garage, or office, the airflow seems a lot more noticeable. With the built-in 20,000mAh battery, it should run all night.
Getting back to using it to help keep my puppy cool pool-side, I think I’m going to 3D print a “water mister” that will attach to the grates of the fan, and to a gravity-fed water supply, to make the airflow more relieving. Or maybe OGERY will beat me to it and sell a snap-on product that can be used!
