REVIEW – I’ve been using the Rabbit Air Artist Design series air purifier that I reviewed over a year ago, and it still works as great as the day I opened it up (with one filter replacement at 12 months). It’s capable of filtering over 1000 square feet, but if you’ve got a slightly smaller space then you might like the Rabbit Minus A2 Air Purifier even more due to its compact size. I’ve been hunting for a good air purifier for my office/workshop/3D-print-farm that can specifically filter out VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from 3D printing. I try to vent everything from my printers outside, but I worry that some might linger and negatively affect me or the other people in the house. Rabbit Air kindly sent over a review unit of the Minus A2 model, so I gave it a try for ~30 days.

Design and features
The Rabbit Minus A2 Air Purifier is available in black and white, as well as a variety of artistic designs like the “Blossom” one shown above.
On the right side of the unit there are physical buttons to control the fan speed, mode, lighting, ion on/off, and power.
Continuing down the right side, we have a wireless status LED, light sensor, air quality status LED, and an odor sensor.
Most of the front of the black colorway I received is a mirror-like plastic finish, with the RabbitAir and minus A2 logos on the left.
A blue light strip across the middle serves as mood lighting that can be adjusted or turned off.
Air is pulled in from the front through the substantial filter (which is comprised of multiple layers designed to trap different types of particles, odors, and pollutants.
The air is then expelled from the top. Notice the groove at the top center which serves as a perfect handhold for moving the air purifier around.
The purifier is only 7 inches deep, allowing for installation in places that other air purifiers definitely wouldn’t fit.
Alternately you could wall-mount the Rabbit Minus A2 Air Purifier on pretty much any vertical surface that’s large enough.
The included remote is infrared, and can control the fan speed, lights, and filter mode.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
Installation of the Rabbit Minus A2 Air Purifier is as simple as plugging it in if you’re not wall-mounting it. If you choose the WiFi-enabled model and want to control the purifier through the RabbitAir app, there are a few easy steps you’ll go through:
Performance
To gauge performance, I exported a detailed report from my Airthings Wave Plus air monitor in my workshop before installing the Rabbit Minus A2 Air Purifier. I had VOC readings going above 250 ppb every few days consistently. I then installed and ran the Rabbit Minus A2 Air Purifier on auto mode for almost 30 days:
I was pleased to see no more “yellow” levels in my office, and it could be anecdotal, but it seems to remove some of the random fume smells that I always picked up on when walking into the room (now it smells like nothing to me when I walk in).
Final thoughts
I love that the Rabbit Minus A2 Air Purifier fits into a gap between my standing desk and the wall and especially love that it’s keeping stray potentially harmful 3D printing fumes to a minimal level. I will gladly pay the ~$50 a year for replacement filters and rest easy at night knowing that the air is clean and healthy. An added bonus is how quiet it is, I never noticed it running unless I manually turned the fan to the highest setting.
