REVIEW – This may be the most non-tech item I’ve reviewed, but I am just as excited for it as any other gizmo that plugs in. I’m talking of course about this delightful drink mix, Peppermint Drinking Chocolate from Bones Coffee. The last time I made a cocoa beverage from powder was probably from a Scouting campout. It’s the middle of summer as I write this- will this be tasty enough to invoke the holiday season?

What is it?
The label says “Drinking Chocolate”, but what’s that? Bones Coffee describes it as “super-premium hot cocoa mix”. Bones Coffee uses natural cocoa powder, organic pure cane sugar, and Arriba Nacional chocolate bits. And of course, my favorite part of all, natural peppermint flavor. I mean, I love peppermint, and who doesn’t love chocolate?
What’s included?
- 8 oz bag, enough for 8 servings
Design and features
I had to kind of laugh at the holiday themed bag since right now it’s the middle of summer. The dark theme looks premium, don’t you think?
The instructions are on the back side: 2 tablespoons of mix for 1 cup (8 oz) of hot milk.
For those of you who read labels, here you go.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
I measured out a cup of milk, found a cup that was larger than 8 ounces, and a measuring spoon.
Somehow I was able to mess up a bag. It’s got a resealing top, but I guess I broke it getting into the powdery bits inside.
Measure out two tablespoons into heated milk of your choice.
Performance
The powder takes a bit of stirring to dissolve, and I still didn’t get it all. The first sip was so tasty, I gulped the rest down in one go.
Final thoughts
I don’t normally drink anything milky or chocolatey, but if I did, this is what I’d want! Now I can invoke the holiday spirit year round. I noticed I drank it down so fast, I dribbled it all over my shirt.
What I like about Peppermint Drinking Chocolate from Bones Coffee
- Deliciously chocolatey and pepperminty
What needs to be improved?
- Self-control (and not get it all over your clothes)
