The Airthereal Revive R800 5L Wi-Fi Kitchen Composter is designed for use on a countertop or other convenient space. It features a 5-liter capacity, which includes a removable bucket. On the front, there is a touchscreen display that provides real-time status of the composting process, as well as carbon offset statistics and filter status. The device can be managed by an app via built-in wireless connectivity. This Composter features three operational modes—Bio, Eco, and Self-Clean. The Bio and Eco modes are for the desired level of composition.
Performance
The Airthereal Revive R800 5L WiFi Kitchen Composter is nicely designed with a sleek look that should fit into any kitchen décor. The 5-liter bucket is a nice size and holds quite a bit of food scraps. In my household, we produce a lot of food scraps daily, so the larger capacity bucket is a good feature for us. Because of its size, it is also easy to clean
Setting up the Revive R800 is remarkably user-friendly. Setting up the composter is straightforward, requiring minimal assembly, mainly installing the carbon filter. The intuitive touchscreen interface and one-button operation simplify the composting process, while the WiFi connectivity and companion app provide real-time monitoring, carbon offset tracking, and access to a rewards system. There are two main composition modes and a self-cleaning mode. The eco and bio modes offer different levels of composition, with the bio mode offering a complete, ready-to-use composition.
The composition process takes a full bucket of food scraps and reduces them to a small amount of compost.
The composting cycle typically takes several hours, depending on the quantity and type of waste, with the quickest being about 4 hours in ECO mode. The Composter operates quietly, but the odor-control system leaves something to be desired. The odors do escape. The quality of the resulting compost can vary based on the type of food scraps, but regardless, the compost it produces is somewhat moist. All of the other Composters I own produce a much drier end product, regardless of the type of food scraps.
Final thoughts
The Airthereal Revive R800 5L WiFi Kitchen Composter works well for creating organic compost out of table food scraps. I like the large size and all of the built-in technology. I do think that the resulting compost could be a bit drier, and this Composter does allow odors to escape.
What I like about the Airthereal Revive R800 5L WiFi Kitchen Composter
- The large composting bucket is ideal for scraps that large families can produce
- A full bucket of scraps is reduced to compost that is approximately 90% less than the original contents
- The Wi-Fi connectivity and app integration allow users to monitor progress and eco accomplishments
- It operates quietly
What needs to be improved?
- The compost that is produced is not fully ready to use and needs to be added to the soil to decompose further
- In many cases, the resulting compost is mushy and quite moist, almost wet
- Depending on what the food scraps are, the odor escapes the container, and the scent can be detected for quite a distance away
