VSEAT Complete Bicycle Seat review – A better bike seat?

REVIEW – I love bike riding. In fact, my entire family does. As recently as a couple of weeks ago, my son was distraught over the pain he suffered from what I call the nose of the bike seat, which is the part that extends between the legs. What we need is for someone to come up with a fresh design to combat “crotch” pain. Enter the VSEAT.

The VSEAT bicycle seat features a design with the traditional bike seat nose and bumps with two rounded pads specifically engineered to support the rider’s what they call sit bones. It is designed to redistribute the rider’s weight in a way that protects soft tissue while promoting better posture and comfort. The surface of the seat pad is made from a water-resistant, slip-resistant thermoplastic elastane material, and the frame utilizes robust glass-filled nylon and reinforced stainless-steel rails for lightweight durability. It weighs approximately 13.4 ounces and is designed to accommodate up to 250 lbs.

Performance

The VSEAT bicycle seat is a unique design that I would describe as thoughtful and innovative. It aims to solve a long-standing problem of what I call “crotch pain,” which is something that most bicycle riders have battled with forever. Its nose-less and bump-less design is geared towards solving the issue while providing a comfortable ride.

Installing the seat is standard and not remarkable, but the angle of the seat is important, and I am guessing it may differ from person to person. It took several test rides around my neighborhood to find the optimal angle for me. Once I found “my” most comfortable angle, the rest of my testing was spent riding around the neighborhood on various surfaces.

It took a few weeks of riding for the seat to “grow” on me, and initially, I felt that I would remove it and go back to a conventional seat. However, I continued to evaluate it, and the more I rode with it, the more comfortable it became. I have decided to leave it on my bike, especially since the absence of a nose makes it extremely comfortable. I do not have a lot of “butt’ cushioning and despite the absorption properties of the seat. I need more padding. The padded slip-on cover is not enough, and I decided not to use it because it always feels like it is slipping. Overall, this design will most likely be a personal choice and a hit or miss depending on the rider. It works for me.

Final thoughts

The VSEAT bicycle seat is a unique design and, without a doubt, accomplishes its primary goal of relieving “crotch” pain. Initially, I did not like it, but the more I ride with it, the more I do. I still think the seat pad needs more cushion for folks like me with less “butt padding” LOL.
