REVIEW – The three piece Coolife Luggage Set is lightweight, strong and roomy. It includes a carry-on size case, and a medium and a large case, both of which you’d need to check at the ticket counter. Each of the pieces can be rolled upright or tilted and pulled. This three piece set is priced less than one medium case of some famous brands. The big case survived my two week international trip unscathed. Sometimes inexpensive is also cheap. Not so in this ‘case’.

Design and features
The Coolife luggage cases are ‘hard side’ style rollers with extendable handles. The cases can be rolled upright, alongside or in front of you on smooth floors, or pulled at an angle from behind as you walk.
The wheels roll silently in airports, hotels or homes. They seem well attached and durable. The wheels are ‘spinner’ type, so their base rotates 360 degrees.
The cases are basically boxes with open interior space. That’s exactly what I prefer – plenty of packing space.
The large case only weighs 10.7 pounds.
The zipper compartments in the cases are useful but not obtrusive. They will not account for any loss of packing space.
Setup
All you have to do before setting out on your excursion is to set a new combination for the lock if you don’t favor the 000 combination, that I’m sure no one would guess. The lock secures the zipper pull handles when they are snapped into it.
Performance
When my large case was fully packed, I put it on its side and picked it up to weigh it. The handle side bowed upwards under the weight.
I wondered if that would cause stress on the zipper, but it did not seem to. I travelled to Jordan on a two week trip, and while my flights out and back were one way, my case is absolutely undamaged.
The case’s wheels were silent in airports and my host’s home. The telescoping handle works intuitively and seems solidly constructed to operate fully extended without rattling, flexing, or feeling loose.
I really like a hard side case with little but open space in it. Compartments can take up space that could be used for packing stuff. It’s different for a camera case or tackle box but for luggage, I want a durable rolling box. The Coolife set is that.
I like the light weight of the Coolife luggage. The airline I used was serious about baggage weight and 50 pounds was the strict limit. Out and back I had pounds to spare in the large case and I was on a two week trip plus on the return had packed some weighty gifts. ‘Nothing to declare, officer’. (No joke – the value was under a level of concern but pottery and cookie tins are heavy!)
This is not unique to Coolife, but the large case is probably best suited (yes) to those who unpack on arrival, as it would be too large for most luggage stands in hotels. And since both halves of the case contain what you packed, it may not be logical to ‘live out of the suitcase’ with one half propped against a wall like you might do with some soft-side luggage made with a thinner ‘top’ closure that could stand open.
Final thoughts
You might wish to bag a set of Coolife luggage. The large case performed perfectly on my international trip and I expect years of service from the set.
What I like about the Coolife Luggage Set
- Lightweight but strong
- Well secured, durable and quiet wheels.
- Plenty of unobstructed open space for packing
What needs to be improved?
- I have no complaints or recommendations.
