SPONSORED NEWS – If you’ve ever thought about diving into metalworking but felt intimidated by the cost, complexity, or steep learning curve, xTool has just delivered the solution you’ve been waiting for. Meet the xTool MetalFab Laser Welder and CNC Cutter, a revolutionary all-in-one machine that combines industrial-grade performance with consumer-friendly pricing and usability. Whether you’re a seasoned metalworker or a DIY enthusiast, this machine opens up endless possibilities for creating, repairing, and customizing metal projects.
Why the xTool MetalFab Stands Out
The xTool MetalFab isn’t just another tool—it’s a complete reimagining of how metal fabrication can be done. Traditional setups for welding and CNC cutting often require separate machines costing thousands of dollars each, not to mention years of training to master their use. The MetalFab eliminates these barriers by combining six powerful functions into one easy-to-use device. Here’s what it can do:
- Laser Welding – Achieve precise, clean welds up to 10 times faster than traditional methods.
- CNC Cutting – Cut intricate designs into metals with industrial-grade precision.
- Rust Removal and Cleaning – Restore old metal parts effortlessly.
- Underwater Welding – Tackle unique projects with water-resistant capabilities.
- Handheld Cutting – Make clean cuts in tight spaces.
- Mobile Rust Removal – Strip contaminants on-site without damaging surfaces.
This versatility makes the MetalFab perfect for everything from crafting custom metal art to performing heavy-duty automotive repairs.
Industrial Power at a Consumer Price
One of the most impressive aspects of the xTool MetalFab is its affordability compared to traditional industrial equipment. Despite its advanced features, this machine is priced for consumers who want professional-grade results without breaking the bank. It’s a significant leap forward in making metalworking accessible to everyone.
For example, the MetalFab’s 1200W laser can cut through metals like stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel with ease—handling thicknesses up to 10mm for cutting and 5mm for welding. This level of power is typically reserved for machines found in industrial settings, but xTool has brought it to your workshop at a fraction of the cost.
The Benefits of Laser Welding Over Traditional Methods
Laser welding is quickly becoming the gold standard in metal fabrication, and for good reason. Compared to traditional methods like MIG or TIG welding, laser welding offers several key advantages:
- Speed – Laser welding is up to 10 times faster than traditional methods, allowing you to complete projects in record time.
- Precision – With a smaller heat-affected zone, laser welds are cleaner and more accurate, reducing the risk of warping or defects.
- Cost-Efficiency – Laser welding uses less shielding gas and electricity than traditional methods, saving you money in the long run.
- Safety – Unlike traditional methods that produce toxic fumes, laser welding is much cleaner and safer to use.
These benefits make the MetalFab ideal not only for professionals but also for beginners looking to get started with metalworking projects.
Easy Enough for Beginners, Powerful Enough for Pros
The xTool MetalFab is designed with ease of use in mind. It features an intuitive 8-inch touchscreen interface that simplifies operation—no prior experience required. The onboard automation system takes care of much of the heavy lifting, from optimizing cutting paths to eliminating user error during welding. This means you can focus on your creativity rather than struggling with complex settings.
For example, if you’re cutting a design into stainless steel, all you need to do is load your material, select your settings on the touchscreen, and let the machine handle the rest. The dual-camera system ensures precision by automatically adjusting for optimal laser focus while minimizing material waste.
Even if you’re new to metalworking, you’ll find that the MetalFab makes it easy to jump right in. And if you’re a pro? You’ll appreciate how this machine streamlines your workflow while delivering top-tier results.
xTool MetalFab Empowers Small Businesses
The xTool MetalFab is a game-changer for small businesses that want to work with metal but don’t have the budget or space for a full industrial setup. Instead of buying separate machines for welding, cutting, and cleaning, you get an all-in-one solution that does it all, right from your workshop or garage.
Here’s how the MetalFab can make a real difference for small business owners:
Save Time and Boost Productivity: With its 2-step “cut + weld = done” workflow, jobs that used to take days can now be finished in hours. The machine’s speed—up to 10 times faster than traditional welding—means you can turn around customer orders quickly, take on more projects, and keep your clients happy.
Lower Costs and Simplify Training: You don’t need to hire a highly trained welder or invest in expensive training programs. The MetalFab is designed so that even beginners can get professional results after just a few tries. This is perfect for small teams or shops where everyone wears multiple hats.
Expand Your Business Offerings: With the ability to cut, weld, and clean a wide range of metals (like stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel), you can take on new types of jobs—custom signs, metal art, furniture, automotive repairs, and more. This flexibility lets you say “yes” to more customer requests and opens up new revenue streams.
Reduce Workshop Clutter: Instead of juggling multiple bulky machines, you get one compact device that fits easily into small spaces. This keeps your shop organized and makes it easier to manage your workflow.
Increase Efficiency and Material Savings: The MetalFab’s smart features, like dual cameras and route optimization, help you use every bit of your materials, reducing waste and saving money on supplies.
Attract More Customers: With the ability to offer fast turnaround, custom designs, and high-quality results, your business stands out from competitors. Whether you’re making custom metal pieces for local clients or selling online, you can deliver professional-grade products without the traditional barriers.
Real Example: Imagine you run a small sign-making business. With the MetalFab, you can quickly cut out metal letters, weld them into place, and even clean up old signs for restoration jobs, all without sending work out to a third party. That means faster delivery, lower costs, and more control over quality.

Is this some sort of joke? The article makes a big deal out of the low cost of this machine. Talk of how it’s “thousands” less than industrial machines, “consumer priced”, and other superlatives…but then never actually gives a price?!?! Sure, I can go on Kickstarter and find out, but come on! If you’re going to make the price the central theme of your article, you ought to at least give it! I didn’t bother going to Kickstarter to find out, but I do wonder what kind of consumer can afford a machine where the early bird discount alone is $4k?
My fault. When the article was being drafted, I didn’t have the pricing info since the campaign had not launched yet. I failed to go to the campaign page this morning to add the price before posting. Sorry about that. I’ve added it.
