NEWS – When I first came across the Tilta Khronos Case for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, I thought it was another overbuilt sci-fi-styled case. I’m glad I thought it looked interesting enough to read more about it because this isn’t just an ordinary metal iPhone case. It’s an incredible modular system for iPhone filmmakers.
The case is made of an aluminum alloy, is available in five colors, and offers both protection and a versatile platform for various video capture accessories. The Khronos system features a quick-release design, allowing users to easily install or remove accessories like focus side handles, cooling modules, and LED lights without needing any tools. The outer frame includes integrated electronic contact points for powering accessories via an optional Power Handle. And a removable recessed plate doubles as a minimal multi-tool, with a utility knife, screwdriver, ruler, and a kickstand.
I don’t think I would use something like this, because I tend to go the opposite when it comes to iPhone cases. My current favorite iPhone case is the Atom Studios Soft Snap magnetic cover. But boy would I like to play with it. I am drooling over all the accessories just like any true Gadgeteer would. If this looks like something you’d use and you want to know more, head over to Tilta and B&H Photo where the case is $129.00 (accessories are extra).

The stand portion, which can attach separately and is magnetic, would be a good gadget on it’s own…
