REVIEW – When you’re a gadget fanatic like I am, outlets and USB charging ports are very important. When I remodeled my office (aka Gadgeteer HQ), I made sure I had a LOT of outlets. There are 16 outlets in my office, but they are all under my desk. To solve this first world problem, I like to use a multi-port charger/power strip on my desk. For the past year, I’ve been using the Baseus Powercombo 6-in-1 power strip and it’s done a decent job. But now it’s time to try the new Baseus Nomos desktop charging stations. Let’s take a look.
What are they?
The Baseus Nomos desktop charging stations are Qi2 MagSafe chargers with extra USB-C and USB-A ports and even AC outlets depending on the the version of the Nomos charger – there are two versions. I will talk about each one below.

Design and features
The Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Desktop Charger is the chunkier of the two chargers.
It features one retractable USB-C cable, 2 USB-C ports, and a USB-A port that are all accessible on the front of the charger.
The back edge of the charger is where you find the power cord connector.
The button found on the right edge isn’t a power button, it toggles the built-in display’s modes which I discuss below.
The top of the Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Desktop Charger has a built-in MagSafe Qi2 charging pad that can be used flat or unfolded.
When unfolded, my iPhone 16 Pro Max can be attached in landscape or portrait orientations.
When the Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Desktop Charger is plugged in, the built-in display shows the overall wattage usage. This is the default view, but if you press the button on the side, you can switch the display to show the status of the individual ports.
This charger can supply a maximum of 140W and is smart enough to split the wattage between the connected devices.
I tested the Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Desktop Charger with my iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple AirPods Pro earbuds, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Ringconn smart ring, and Oladance earbuds.
You might be wondering why the Qi2 charger display only shows that it’s 7W instead of 15W. I was wondering the same thing and came to learn that The iPhone’s charging system is designed to be dynamic and adaptive. It doesn’t always draw the maximum power available, as this can vary based on several factors like battery level (the battery was already at 95% capacity), temperature, and if the phone is being used while it’s charging. I did see higher wattage levels when testing it and other phones at different times.
The Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Desktop Charger worked great and I liked using it. I do wish that it had an adhesive base like the Baseus Powercombo 6-in-1 power strip that I’ve been using. As is, I have to hold on to the charger when I plug in or unplug cables and even when I remove my iPhone from the MagSafe charger.
Baseus Nomos 8-in1 Desktop Charger
The Baseus Nomos 8-in-1 is the other version of the Nomos desktop charger and like the 5-in-1, it has a detachable power cord.
It also has 3 USB-C ports, 1 USB-A port, Qi2 charger, and 3 AC outlets.
A notable difference is that it has a max of 67W.
And it does not have a built-in status display like the Nomos 5-in-1 charger.
The Qi2 charger is MagSafe and it can unfold.
If you like to position your iPhone in portrait orientation, you’ll want to keep the Qi2 charger unfolded at a shallow angle.
That’s because the bottom of the iPhone will cause the charger’s front edge to lift up.
This doesn’t happen if you position the iPhone in a landscape orientation.
I had no issues using the 8-in-1 charger other than needing to hold the base of the charger when plugging and unplugging cables or removing my iPhone from the MagSafe charger. An adhesive base would be nice.
What I like about the Baseus Nomos desktop chargers
- Multiple charging ports
- Qi2 for fast-charging compatible devices
- Nomos 5-in-1 has a built-in status display
What needs to be improved?
- Both could use an adhesive base
- Nomos 8-in-1 needs a built-in status display
- Price for the Nomos 5-in-1 charger is pretty spendy
Final thoughts
The Baseus Nomos desktop charging stations are a great solution for gadget lovers who need a charging hub on their desk. Both the 5-in-1 and 8-in-1 models offer a mix of USB ports, Qi2 MagSafe charging, and AC outlets that can handle most of your charging needs. The 5-in-1 model stands out with its handy status display and higher 140W output, while the 8-in-1 version provides USB ports and AC outlets at a lower price point.
These chargers aren’t perfect; they could use an adhesive base to keep them in place on your desk, and the 8-in-1 model would benefit from a status display like its sibling. The price of the 5-in-1 model might also make some buyers think twice. But if you’re looking for a well-designed, feature-packed charging station that can declutter your desk and keep your gadgets powered up, the Baseus Nomos chargers are worth considering. They’re a solid choice for anyone who wants to simplify their charging setup without sacrificing functionality or style.
Price: $149.99 (5-in-1 charger), $99.99 (8-in-1 charger)
