NEWS – Kidde has an indoor air quality monitor that has carbon monoxide (CO) and smoke alarms. It’s called the Kidde Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Indoor Air Quality Monitor. It’s one of the only devices I’ve found that integrates air quality monitoring with CO detection (I’ve always wondered why air quality monitors don’t include CO monitoring). It measures temperature, humidity, and total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs), and detects CO and smoke.
This 3-in-1 device works with the Kidde app allowing the user to monitor these air quality factors and alert you in real time to concerning levels. There are even voice alerts like “Fire!”, “Warning: Carbon Monoxide!”, and “Replace Alarm”. It has a 10-year lithium backup battery, works with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, and is UL-listed. Setup is as easy as scanning the QR code on the device (or the Quick Start Guide) and following the steps in the app. It even works with existing hardwired Kidde alarms so that if one alarm goes off, they all do.
I don’t have this Kidde device, but many Amazon reviewers state that it works well and gives them peace of mind while a few others say there are some problems with the false alarms and silencing those alarms.
If you’re interested, the Kidde Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Indoor Air Quality Monitor is available on Amazon for $86.12.
