honda motocompacto

NEWS – Back in the 80s, Honda made a little folding motorcycle known as the Motocompo, a 50cc deal that only sold for a few years in Japan.  Apparently, Honda has decided to pay homage to that horrible design and re-build it as an electric scooter.  Honda asserts that their new gadget, the Motocompacto, has been “dream engineered for your lifestyle,” but when I look at the design, I’m left wondering, “What lifestyle they are referring to?”  This gadget looks a folding white table — you know, the ones that show up at Christmas bazaars where people are selling goat milk soap — with wheels?  Oh, my, it’s ugly!  The seat and the handlebars can fold up, leaving you carrying around a giant, 41-pound table into the office.  The specs are not impressive either.  Max speed is 15 mph, and max range is an anemic 12 miles.  But hey, if it’s your thing, it’s supposed to be available November 2023 at Honda and Acura dealers for only $995.

  2. That’s a wacky design, for sure! But I like the compact size, and 12 miles to work, charge during the day, and 12 miles home. Not bad for many applications. I wonder if it could be outfitted with a set of legs and a camping chair to complete the table aesthetic.
