NEWS – I can’t stand fingerprints on my mobile devices. I usually use a microfiber cloth to clean them, but that means I have to find one first. The Waterbear Universal Screen Cleaner from KUVRD is a small cleaning patch or pad with silicone adhesive gel on the back (doesn’t leave residue) that you stick to your phone, tablet, camera, sunglasses, etc. (impractical for a TV because of its small size) to keep it handy whenever you want to clean your screens or lenses.

The front is an “antimicrobial-infused, nano-carbon synthetic chamois polyamide tri-blend” material that you use to wipe away bacteria, fingerprints, and dirt from your device. And whenever the stickiness on the back wears off, you rinse it in water, let it air dry, and you’re good to go.

I don’t have any Waterbears, but some Amazon reviewers mentioned that the patch starts to fall off if you put your phone in your pocket and pull it out a few times. And if you happen to wipe your device with the wrong side, the adhesive really messes up the screen. But other reviewers really like it.

I like the idea behind this, but it’s a little expensive. Perhaps it’s worth trying a single patch or pad to see if it works for you. You can purchase a single Waterbear Universal Screen Cleaner patch (30x30mm) or a single pad (51.2×51.2mm) at Amazon for $12 each. If you try one, leave a comment and let me know how you like it.
