Performance

The Blackview Tab 8 Android tablet performs well as a basic use daily tablet. I did encounter some bugginess initially when trying to add my Google account. The process kept restarting and I had to try over a dozen times before I was successful. Trying included having to restart the tablet numerous times. After that, it worked well for surfing and only basic app usage. I am not a gamer so I cannot attest to its performance for games. However, I did download the 3DMark Benchmark app and perform benchmark testing. As you can see below from the screenshots of the results, the resulting score was only 1% better than the results from other devices that as a part of the database of this app:

While I never use a tablet to take photos, I decided to test out the camera by taking a photo of the skyline outside of my office. Keep in mind that there was a dirty glass in between. I think the tablet did a decent job:

What I like

  • It is relatively lightweight and portable
  • Useful sized screen
  • Simple and sleek design
  • The expandable storage option via the micro SD card slot
  • The touchscreen is decently responsive
  • The apps open quickly
  • Good speaker volume

What I’d change

  • It can act buggy at times which becomes quite frustrating
  • The screen is a fingerprint magnet

Final thoughts

The Blackview Tab 8 Android tablet is a good daily-use tablet for basic tasks like surfing, watching videos and managing emails, etc. As I mentioned previously, I am not a gamer, but based on the benchmark results, I would think that there would be some challenges. The 10.1 inch is a nice size for a tablet.
