NEWS – Wyze has easily become my favorite home automation company by providing quality products at crazy affordable prices. I have been using their Wyze cams for quite a while now and just recently started using their Wyze Sense motion and door sensors. Today they add yet another product to their line of easy to use products.
Their latest device is the Wyze Plug which as you’ve probably already guessed, is a WiFi controllable power adapter. But wait, there’s more to it than that First of all, you can get a package of 2 for only $14.99. You can also use the Wyze app to schedule times when the plugs turn on or off or set the plugs to vacation mode so that lights automatically turn on and off to make it look like someone is home.
Wyze Plugs are also more powerful than some smart plugs that can only have a maximum draw of 10-12 amps. Wyze Plugs can be used with appliances that draw up to 15A.
And if that weren’t enough features to make you want to order some right now, they won’t block the other outlet when you plug them into the wall outlet, and you can also control Wyze Plugs with your voice because they are compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.

We pre-ordered them and got them a few weeks ago. They work pretty well. The scheduling UI is fiddly (but that’s common for all wyze devices). However once we set them up they worked without problem.
We use them to turn heater/dehumidifier on/off on schedule. It looks like you can also set a random schedule, to imitate human activity in the house, but we’ve not tried that.
