I love flat charging cables. Ever since I came across the flat micro USB cable that came with the Logitech Ultimate Ears Boom speaker, I’ve been snapping up flat cables if there’s a choice. Now, there’s a car charger with a flat cable!
The TYLT RIBBN comes in red, yellow, blue or black in both micro USB or Lightning connectors. This is the black Lightning version.
The side of the packaging has this cool TYLT pattern. Well, I thought it was cool.
Even when all tangled up, the flat cable makes it not so bad.
The cable itself measure about a meter (roughly 3 feet).
The Lightning cable end is slightly wider and thicker than the standard Apple one.
Here’s the additional USB port, handy for charging a second device.
The charger plug measured about three inches from tip to end.
TYLT says the RIBBN is good for 4.8A total charging power. Here, it’s charging up an iPod Touch and a bluetooth headset (shorty micro USB cable not included).
Charging up an iPod Nano in my dusty car.
There’s no power LED of any kind on the TYLT RIBBN, which would have been a nice touch. The charger body is a little long at 3 inches. If these things don’t bother you, you’ll enjoy the tangle-resistant flat cable. This is definitely going with me when I drive rental cars.
