If your car’s current remote is broken or you’ve lost it, you have another option other than going to the dealership to get a replacement. The iKeyless Universal Remote from Keyport works for over “1000 vehicle models, including 16 of the top 20 most popular vehicles, from 20 major car brands”. It works for models produced from 1997 through 2014, and contains the codes of 215 different remotes. You’ll need at least one working key to pair the remote to work with your car; in some cases, you’ll also need one working remote to complete the pairing. The iKeyless Universal Remote is $49.99 from Keyport. You’ll find a list of the supported cars on the iKeyless Universal Remote page at Keyport. (Unfortunately, my Subaru isn’t on the list…)

I’m not fond of “ad” posts (understand the need) but this one had me excited for about 30 seconds… until I discovered that my Honda isn’t one of the supported “1000+” of models supported. Sigh…
@jhon this isn’t an ad post. No one is paying us / Janet to write this post or any post that doesn’t have a “sponsored” tag on it. It’s just something she found while surfing and the fact that both of us are huge fans of the Keyport. I’m sure other fans of this great keychain alternative will find this news post useful.
And you are correct — I found it useful — it just didn’t work for me. Thanks for the clarification.
Too bad that Mercedes is not on the list. All the skin/case on my remotes are cracked.
