They also make boards with monogrammed family names, and as a wedding or anniversary gift – an oak tree with a carved heart containing initials (the oak tree board comes in maple, cherry, or walnut). After engraving, the boards are treated with food grade mineral oil and beeswax to seal and protect them. The back side of the cutting board remains plain for you to do your chopping on, leaving the design side untouched for display if desired.
