This Interactive Cloud Lamp is more of an art piece than task lighting.  It looks fluffy like a real cloud and hangs from your ceiling like a small thundercloud.  It has interactive, color-changing Philips lights inside and a speaker system that can stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device or produce the thunder that goes along with the lightning show.  “On one hand, ‘Cloud’ is an Arduino-controlled, motion-triggered lightning and thunder performance. On the other, it is a music-activated visualizer and suspended speaker unit.”  You can set it to simulate a thunderstorm, to interact with your music, or to respond to your presence and to ambient movements and sounds.  The Interactive Cloud Lamp is expensive at $3360.00, but you can get a “lamp only” version or a “satellite” version to add to another Cloud.  Learn more and purchase at Richard Clarkson Art & Design Laboratory.
