Scottish audio company RHA has quickly become famous for well-made and very good sounding earphones that are also affordable. Now, RHA has moved up-market with two new earphones in two configurations each: the RHA 600, 600i, 750, and 750i (the ‘i’ simply means an added 3-button remote and microphone for Apple devices). The new 600/600i looks very much like the RHA 450/450i, but with with upgraded speaker components and accessories. However, the 750/750i is all-new with hand-made dynamic drivers; 303F grade stainless steel housings; reinforced, 1.35m oxygen-free copper cable and a large selection of tips with a premium carrying case. RHA states that handmade drivers are better because they possess an attention to detail over machine made units resulting in better reliability and longevity. Each stainless steel housing on the 750/750i takes 6 hours to manufacture, and is stronger than aluminum. The 600/600i will sell for $79.95/$89.95 US and the 750/750i is $119.95/$129.95 and will be available in late August. The Gadgeteer will be reviewing them soon.
