This 12-Port USB Hub with Power Adapter and 2 Switches from Satechi is for the person who has everything – and needs to charge/sync it! The USB 2.0 hub has two switches that allow you to turn on the first six ports, the last six ports, all, or none. It has a data rate of up to 480Mbps and a slim “power strip” shape that doesn’t use up too much desk space. It works with PC or Mac and requires no software. You can even travel with it. Normal price is $39.99, but Satechi is selling it for $27.99 at the moment.

I have a 13-port USB hub on my computer already and it is great. I like the idea of a power strip hub as it takes up less space. The missing info on the specs for this strip is the total amount of power available for all the ports. How much load can be put on the overall strip makes a big difference. External hard drives eat power. Keyboard and bluetooth connectors, not so much. Add the total power load that can be supported and I think the review will be complete.
Wished they had a USB 3.0 version!
@Mark, sorry, this isn’t a review, just a news item. I haven’t had any hands-on time so I can write a review. The item page doesn’t mention how what the total power load is, but it did say you could chain up to 127 USB devices through the hub.
