There aren’t a lot of speaker docks designed specifically for Android smartphones because of the sheer number of different styles. However, if you have an Android phone with microUSB and 3.5mm audio connectors, you can amplify your music with the speaker and control playback and volume with the included remote and the free SONR app. The Universal Speaker Dock for Android from Digital Innovations works with most any Android phone. (See the first link for a list of supported phones.) The dock supports the phone in either landscape or portrait orientation, and it charges it, too. The dock delivers 2.1 stereo sound with 6W from the two speakers and 10W from the subwoofer. It’s $99.99 and can be purchased directly from Digital Innovations or from ThinkGeek.

Unfortunately, the fragmentation of Android phones also factors into the availability of accessories. The sheer volume of quality accessories available for iPhones will be difficult to match because the quality of accessories available for Android phones is greatly diminished by generic designs created to accommodate different Android phone styles. i.e. Look Above. Well…at least it exists.
In case you didn’t want to click thru the link:
Of all the Android phones, the only one it won’t work with is the Sony Ericsson Android phone. The only phone the remote won’t work with (but the dock and features will work) is the Google Nexus One. You’ll have to press the screen instead.
You could also use this with one of the third party battery packs for iPhone, just without the remote. It’s a shame they didn’t just put BlueTooth on the remote to your default music player…
