MagnetaPicks – Lost Guitar Picks may be a Thing of the Past

in Music Gear, News

Made in the USA of recycled plastic, MagnetaPicks are 0.8mm thick guitar picks with an embedded neodymium magnet. The embedded magnet means you can stick these picks on metal surfaces such as the strings of your guitar (if you play a steel string guitar of course), the back of your tuners, mic stand or even your refrigerator. The picks are medium-to-heavy gauge and have been designed to not effect the tone of guitar. They are available in 5 colors and come in packs of 3 for $9.99 from Vat19.com

Terrible idea. Picks wear out and at $10 for 3 of them ain’t exactly cheap. I’d also be worried about the magnet slowing the vibration of the string down.

“… have been designed to not effect the tone of guitar.”

Yeah right, because magnets have nothing to with the way an electric guitar works.
