FLEx Lighting Illuminated Optical Film – A Bright e-Reader Addition

FLEx Lighting has created an illuminated optical film that may eliminate the need for reading lights with e-ink readers (amongst other applications).  The 50 micron film is flexible, edgeless, and invisible when turned off and produces a soft, low uniform light when on using a single low power consuming LED .  It can be implemented either as a back-light or a front-light and integrates with touchscreens.

No more heavy lighted covers or external lights in the future?

This would make for a must eReader upgrade for me. I’d trade the silly touchscreen functionality for this.
