IK Multimedia Introduces the iRig Mic – the First Hand-held Mic for Apple iOS Devices

IK Multimedia has introduced the iRig Mic, the first hand-held microphone for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.  The iRig Mic has a quality condenser-electret unidirectional capsule.  The mic is great for recording vocals, speech, or instruments.  The iRig Mic dual in/out mini-jack connector allows you to monitor your recordings in real time without disconnecting the mic from your iPhone/iPod or iPad. It’s stereo mini-jack output can be easily connected to traditional headphones and earbuds or line input to mixers, powered speakers, amplifiers and PA systems.  The iRig  Mic can be used with any application that accepts audio input, but it is designed to work best with the three applications supplied with the iRig Mic:  VocaLive, a mobile suite of real-time effects dedicated to live vocal processing; AmpliTube, with real-time guitar and bass effects, recording and mastering capabilities; and iRig Recorder, the new IK app for quick audio recording and processing.  The iRig Mic can be preordered from IK Multimedia for $59.99.

The iRig Mic sounds great. Best of all, I’m taking mine to record in all kinds of places I never could have gone with a condenser mic before. http://www.ikmultimedia.com/irigmic offers 3 different apps to use with their mic that are worth checking out.
