Today in 1966 NBC-TV aired the very first episode of Star Trek entitled The Man Trap. The show was then canceled on September 2, 1969.
It's amazing to me that a show that only lasted for 3 years could generate such a following and such a legacy of spinoffs. How many Trekkies do we have out there? I can remember watching reruns as a teenager. The original series is probably my favorite, although I did enjoy Voyager. I never watched an episode of Deep Space Nine and couldn't get into Enterprise. I do regret never watching STTNG though. I wish I could get in on the very start of a rerun run.
