After the iPad 2 announcement, lots of companies starting announcing accessories for it. Miniot, a Holland-based company that makes wooden cases for iPhones and iPods, announced a wooden cover for the iPad 2. This cover is different from most boxlike, wooden cases for iPads. The Miniot Cover for iPad 2 is a flexible screen cover that looks a lot like the Apple Smart Cover. The case is made from a single piece of wood, and you can add a personalized engraving for free. Unfortunately, there is no information to let us know if the Miniot cover will sleep/wake the iPad. The Miniot cover will ship in March, and it will cost €50 (about $69). You can sign up to be notified when it is released at the Miniot webpage.

Anyone else think this might get a little heavy? It looks beautiful and all but…
Not, but heavy looks like it could potentially pinch a digit or two.
Want! Need!
I am pleased to say that it is actually very thin and will not pinch fingers. I have the Apple leather cover and like the Miniot cover better! No nasty hinge on the side that scratches the ipod2 cover and much sturdier in stand mode. I have also noticed that the Apple cover leaves four lines on the screen where it folds and discolors the back from the dye in the leather.
Good review. I had to shop around for it at Amazon and Overstock.com, and had trouble finding them. A little anxious, so I ordered a few days ago a leather Mivizu iPad 2 case called the Sense, and I also ordered an Otterbox hardshell. Best, the Mivizu folio is affordable priced at $26.99 against apple’s not smart price of $69.99 http://www.amazon.com/Mivizu-Sense-Leather-Feature-ciPD2mvzSMRTblk/dp/B004V0CCQK
