REVIEW – I have had knee problems since I was in high school. I tweaked something while I was ice-skating, and they have never been the same. Most of the time they just ache, or make weird noises. However, they have started to hurt more often, and more intensely than before. The BOB AND BRAD heated knee brace offers the support of a brace combined with comforting heat to make an awesome combination for any aching knee, and it’s battery powered.

Design and features
One of the best things about this knee brace is the built-in heating pad. Yes, I can sit on my couch with my leg propped up and a heating pad on, but I doubt my kids would let me sit for longer than five minutes. Being stuck on the couch because a cord doesn’t reach anywhere isn’t an option for a lot of people. This knee brace however, has that heat function built in. There are multiple intensity levels and timers. Not only do you get the support and comfort of the brace, you get the added bonus of the heat while still being able to stick to your routines.
The material that is used for this brace is soft and durable. There three straps, and five hook and loop fasteners to adjust around your knee. I have no struggles fitting this around anyone in my household‘s knees. It may have to wrap a little more around the eight-year-old knee than mine, but I don’t feel like it is impossible. The design of the brace provides comfort and stability. It ensures that the pressure is better distributed yet still gentle.

There are five different levels of heat, and three timers. I thoroughly enjoy the ability to set a time and heat level and literally walk away. My knees enjoy the stability the brace can give. I have other knee braces with the same basic structure so I’m familiar with how they feel and fit. Thankfully I have not had too many issues with my knees, and these braces fit well, and feel great. Just be warned the control box is on the front right above the knee and gets beat up if you aren’t careful.

The control box that you attach onto the brace isn’t necessarily bulky, but it definitely isn’t small either. Also, I was going to take a picture of what it looks like under the connector area, but once the piece clicked into place I could not get it to come apart. I’m sure that’s a good thing. I would hate to be walking around and lose the controls that make this brace so awesome.

The heat function is something I use almost daily. With a 2500mAh battery, it should last about two and half hours. Of course this also depends on the frequency and intensity of use. I wish the battery lasted a little longer, but at the same time I have no struggles plugging it in when I’m done wearing it. If I don’t plug it in, my daughter would use up the battery faster than I can find a plug. She puts everything on maximum power, and definitely gives it a run for its money. Luckily, this knee brace is up for the challenge. My daughter did inform me that turning the heat up to maximum, and leaving it on for the full hour was too much. If she were to do it again, there would be a layer between the heat and her skin to keep it from burning her.
Final thoughts
I love how simple and basic the design and functions are. It looks sweet and innocent, but is really a fancy gadget in disguise. It has stability, heat, and comfort. What else could you ask for? My knees just wish that they didn’t have to take turns. I should probably just buy another one. 😁
