The Hollyland Lark Max 2 microphone system features a sleek, compact design with clip-on transmitters. The Transmitters measure approximately 48.5mm x 30.3mm x 19.4mm and weigh just 14g each. The transmitters have a smooth, coated finish that provides durability and comfort for long-term wear. Each unit houses a high-sensitivity omnidirectional microphone with mesh for wind and vibration isolation. The receiver is slightly larger and features a 1.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen with access to the controls. The Receivers and Transmitters are housed in a compact charging case. This package also includes 2 wireless monitoring earbuds and a compact charging case. They are lightweight and adjustable to fit ears of any size.

Performance

The Hollyland Lark Max 2 delivers outstanding performance, and in my opinion, it is a great fit for both content creators and professional videographers. The audio quality is exceptional, providing broadcast-quality sound regardless of ambient noise. The noise cancellation produces clear voice audio even in environments with wind or traffic noise.

The wireless transmission is strong and works well outdoors, and the onboard recording feature is great, just in case there are any transmission dropouts between the Transmitter and Receiver. I also love the included earbuds that allow each person the ability to monitor the audio in real time to ensure the integrity of the audio. I was not able to teat to the stated 1000 feet of line of sight, but I was able to reach up to 300 feet with absolutely no issue, and knowing the Hollyland quality for my previous reviews, I do not doubt the stated 1000 ft transmission range.

Also, the battery life is impressive. I have used the Transmitters for about 9 hours while working with no issue with the battery becoming depleted and no need to recharge until I was finished.

I love the design and the integrated click clips on each transmitter that make it easy to place the device on my shirt. I also like the adjustability of the earbuds for monitoring. It can literally fit any size of ear and will not fall off or become loose. Both Receivers are compact and well-built. The USB-C receiver plugs right into my iPhone or my Venusliv V2 camera. The second Receiver fits easily onto a cold shoe and allows for easy connectivity to any camera.

Final thoughts

The Hollyland Lark Max 2 is arguably one of the best of the many similar mic systems that I have tested. It is nicely designed, compact, versatile, and reliable. Another great dev ice from Hollyland.
