These are the most unusual bumper cases for iPhone 5 and iPad that I’ve seen.  Stone Jelly Ltd. makes these bumpers by hand, using brown oak, precision-engineered anodized aluminum, and custom fittings.  Everything is made in their UK-based shop or by a few local suppliers.  They are lined with cork for increased protection of your device.  These cases won’t be for everyone, but they are very cool cases that will be just what some are looking for.  Stone Jelly Ltd. does ship internationally.  iPhone 5 cases are about $61.50 (£39.95); iPad cases are about $92.00 (£59.95).

  2. To each their own, but in my opinion (being an android guy) the main reason I see people buying Apple products are the smooth lines and “sexiness” I can’t see anybody I know who is a hardcore apple follower would ever do this to their iDevice. But again, eye of the beholder.

  3. @Drew: On the other hand, you could argue that one of the reasons to buy an iDevice is that products like this exist, where it’s harder to find similar products for Android devices. (Due to sales volume on specific devices: There are more iPhones of a specific generation out there than there are handsets of any one model of Android phone, even if Android outsells in general.)

  4. You are right, I can’t argue with that logic. I however will stick to my non-apple device and will (with heavy heart) sacrifice my steam-punked case to someone else. 😀

  5. Hey Drew

Actually I want to start making cases for Android devices. But as DStaal mentioned its a case (no pun intended) of choosing the more prolific model. However I started the business to offer a very niche product to a very small market. So I am confident we can produce cases for the Android devices. We are also working on ‘sleeves’ that are not as robust as these cases but retain our unconventional aesthetic.

  6. This case’s design is ingenious- mine’s in the mail as we speak and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I’ve been looking for months and refuse to put the cheap looking plastic cases on my phone. Thanks for offering a case that’s this unconventional- Love it!
