Design and features
I was able to review the Orbitkey daily tote system. I chose the lilac color, and it is just as pretty in person as it is in the pictures. I love the pale purple. I have only taken it on a couple of trips, but it has not disappointed. The color is still as pretty as it was when I first received the tote.

The material is a sturdy and soft combo. It is a dream to clean, and doesn’t give the feeling of being cheap. I feel that I don’t have to be careful when packing this bag. There is a sturdiness that I truly appreciate. It has almost a canvas feel when it comes to stability, but the softness and actual texture of the tote is much softer.

In addition to the tote bag itself, I was also privileged to receive the essentials bag insert, and the cross body strap. I have had inserts to purses and totes before, but I don’t know that I would’ve chosen to reuse the product.

This insert is made of the same sturdy material that the other parts of the tote system are made of. It holds it shape when I pull it out of the larger tote. The last time I went to the in-laws house, I packed the insert with the cords and other electronics that I would want to have when I wasn’t spending the time with the family. It worked perfectly. I was able to take out the insert for my personal space, and proceed to fill the rest of the tote with the things that the kids would need while we were at the main house. I was still able to keep everything together, and it was so simple to put in and take out the insert. Win. Win. Win.

The crossbody strap was probably the thing that pushed me over the edge on how much I love this tote, and how often I will use it. I have plenty of other bags, but if there is a chance that the shoulder straps won’t stay where I put them while dealing with toddlers, then I won’t be choosing that particular tote. In addition to being functional, the crossbody strap has a decent cushion for your shoulder comfort. Add the fact that it matches the color of the tote, and I definitely will choose this tote more often.

The main tote bag I received was the 16L, but there is also a 21L available. I had no problems fitting everything into the 16L, and don’t see a need for me personally to have to have anything larger. It comes in black, white, Lilac, or Olive color. The inside is lined with so many pockets! There are mesh pockets, side pockets, magnetized front pocket, hidden side pocket, and more. One thing that I feel sets this apart from most of the other bags is that the laptop/padded sleeve section is actually its own section, with its own zipper. I am so used to having part of the main bag dedicated to the padded section, but only being separated by a button, or strap. This one is all by itself, and has no chance of runover from the other pockets in the main section.

Another feature that I enjoy is that the zipper to the main compartment is a separating zipper. It doesn’t just zip from one side to the other. It is like a jacket zip up. At the base of the zipper you have to connect two sides to fully close the compartment. I usually have this main pocket of my tote open, since I get into it so often, but occasionally I like to close everything so no one has to see what kind of mess my life can be. Ha!

I have broken plenty of zippers because I overload the pockets and just smash things where I can. This zipper is protected from reaching that breaking point and makes the main section more user friendly in my opinion.

On the front of this bag is a “custom hardware” feature. I use this hook for my keys when I am in a rush, or to clip a pacifier, place my hand sanitizer, or hang my chapstick.

It’s the small details like this that turn a nice bag into a great bag.
Final thoughts
A lot of thought and effort has been put into this daily tote system. The small details make all the difference, and this bag has a lot of details. The materials are sturdy and waterproof. The design is made for anyone. I am a list maker, and I can basically customize this tote to any thing that I need. I am thoroughly enjoying the style, color, and functionality. I take it to church, the store, pack the kids up, and more. I only wish the insert could convert into its own tote. I would love to be able to just grab the insert, add the crossbody strap, and now I have a small version of what I need to just run an errand or two.
