Design and features
Everybody needs a break from reality now and then. Mine happens to be in the form of a craft room. Along with all of my mounds of projects that are unfinished, is an old set of speakers. I’m sure in their day they were top-of-the-line. Unfortunately, they are so hard to hear, and the volume doesn’t do a whole lot. So listening to audio books, watching movies, or taking a dance break doesn’t happen as often as it should.

These Hecate speakers have the ability to connect with a USB-C, auxiliary cable, or Bluetooth. Different TV set ups have different outputs, but since I’m currently using a Roku, I just decided to hook it up with Bluetooth. I have been able to hook up my phone, my laptop, and now my Roku. Set up is extremely easy. As in plug-in play. I initially turned the power on, pulled out my phone, opened up the settings, and there it was. They connected flawlessly.

To connect my laptop, I disconnected my phone so that the speakers weren’t already connected to something, and suddenly they were on the list of items available. I didn’t have to hold down any buttons or do anything crazy. The same thing happened when I tried to set up my Roku. I turned on the speakers and was able to hear my laptop in a completely different level of the house. So these speakers have a decent range, about 33 ft. Once the laptop forgot the Bluetooth speakers it was instantly available, this time on the Roku.

There is a very appealing visual effect that these speakers have. It almost feels as if you can see through the speakers. As you gaze into the speaker, you will see all of the lights. These lights have multiple patterns available, and all of them are just as beautiful as the last. To change which pattern the lights are producing, there is a tiny button on top of the speaker that looks like the letter G. By double clicking that button you can cycle through the various patterns.

If you push that same button that looks like a G again, just once, it cycles through movie mode, music mode, and game mode. Each mode has a fun sound effect as it turns on. Some music notes for the music mode, a film reel for the movie mode, and an engine sound for the game mode. I thought that it was clever to have different sounds instead of a voice to tell you which mode you were selecting.
I love the sound from these speakers. There is definitely some base, but not so much that it overwhelms everything else. Listening to movies is enjoyable because the voices come out so clear. There is a rich quality to the tone that really makes these speakers stand out. In movie mode there is a virtual 7.1 surround sound. Music mode boosts the vocals, and gaming mode sharpens the footsteps.

Holding down the power button will turn on the speakers. However, if you continue to hold it down, it will turn them back off. It doesn’t turn on pairing mode or anything that you might think it would. Pushing the volume up or down buttons that are on the speakers increases the volume by five or six each time, unlike the volume knob from my computer that can be adjusted in very small increments. However, I couldn’t use the volume control from the Roku remote.
The two speakers are connected by a cord, so you can’t place them anywhere without bringing both of them along. Only the right speaker has the input and output. The left speaker doesn’t have anything besides the connecting cord. They are also labeled R and L to differentiate between left and right. Even though they are connected, they are also compact and should be able to fit most places that you would expect to find a pair of speakers like these.

Final thoughts
My craft room is definitely more enjoyable. Now that I have these beautiful, amazing speakers. The Bluetooth ability means that I can have a little more freedom with where I place the speakers. And of course I love not dealing with all of the cable management. With the quality sound of these speakers, I will thoroughly enjoy locking myself away with my choice of music and movies that can easily be seen and now heard. Crafting has never been so fun. Let the vacation begin. 🙂

What I like about Hecate G2000 pro 2.0 speakers
- Good base line
- Full, rich tones
- Very pretty
- Freedom of placement
- Less cables to deal with
- Different modes
- Fun visual effects from the lights and the patterns that they create
- compact. But not too small either
- Quick and easy to connect via Bluetooth
- Bluetooth range is decently far.
What needs to be improved?
- Right now I am thoroughly pleased with the speakers, and haven’t found any faults. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have any. I am not a sound expert, but as a casual user, and lover of all things pretty in both sound and appearance, These speakers seem to have it all.
