REVIEW – Ready to ditch your wallet that would make George Costanza blush with its spine-altering thickness?  You might need to check out Allett.  I’ve reviewed several products from Allett, the most recent a handful of wallets back in 2019, and I’ve been impressed with their durability and slim, minimalist style.  Since it had been a minute, the folks at Allett reached out and offered to send me and others a round of products to review, and I quickly agreed.  This batch includes updates to some classic Allett favorites.  Let’s check them out!

What is it?

Founded in San Diego in 1995, Allett has risen the upper echelon of wallet companies as having been a producer of some of the slimmest, most durable, attractive-looking and affordable wallets on the market today.

What’s included?

AlletWallets 02

Allett sent several products and each came in various types of packaging.  More on this in each product’s section below.  Overall, the Allett product packaging is slim and minimal, must like their wallets, and much of it can be recycled or even reused.  Good on Allett for that.

AlletWallets 69

The generous folks at Allett allowed me to select several of their latest wallet styles, which included the following:

  • Coin Wallet 2.o – Nylon Edition – in Cala Green color
  • Travel Wallet – Leather Edition – in Merlot color
  • Sport Wallet – Nylon Edition – in Charcoal Grey color
  • ID Wallet – Nylon Edition – in Potter’s Clay color
  • Micro Pen (2x)

Micro Pen

Before we dive into each of the Allett wallets themselves, the opening band for this concert will be the Allett Micro Pen, sometimes called the Wallet Pen on the Allett site.  The Allett Micro Pen has the following Tech Specs:

  • Material – brass plated in a dark gunmetal finish
  • Mechanism – twist to deploy (with rubber gaskets)
  • Dimensions –  3.3” x 0.4” (83mm x 9mm)
  • Weight – 0.3 ounces (8.5g)
  • Ink cartridge – black color, refillable ballpoint (multi-pack of refill cartridges sold by Allett)
  • Price – $18

AlletWallets 03 e1754095131573

As mentioned above, the Allett Micro Pen was packaged in a slim cardboard tube with the Allett logo and a sweet topographic design printed on the outside.

AlletWallets 04 e1754095168206

The Allett Micro Pen is made from durable brass and made in a dark chrome-like gunmetal finish.  Very cool look.

AlletWallets 05 e1754095186435

It features a sturdy pocket clip for holding it secure in a…well…a pocket, which is essential for a pen this small and slim.

AlletWallets 06 e1754097213139

The Allett Micro Pen features the “allett” logo in small white letters on one end.

AlletWallets 07 e1754096067433

The tip of the Micro Pen’s pocket clip also has a tiny gold Allett “A” logo, a nice little touch.

AlletWallets 08 e1754097270213

The Allett Micro Pen utilizes a twist action to deploy its smooth-writing ballpoint tip.  Just rotate the barrel relative to the “cap” and the ballpoint cartridge tip deploys.  Rotate the opposite direction to retract the tip back into the barrel.  Although I like style “clicky” pens, I think twist action is a good idea for a pen like this that could often get shoved into a pocket or fall to the bottom of a bag–the twist action will keep the tip from being accidentally extended.

AlletWallets 09

Just three simple components comprise the Allett Micro Pen: the cap, the barrel, and the ink cartridge.  With the twist action, there’s no spring, so that cuts down on a component.  However, the barrel has two tiny rubber gaskets that help keep the twist action feeling smooth.  The ink cartridge can be replaced, and Allett sells 3-packs of replacement cartridges.

AlletWallets 10

At only 3.3” long and 0.4” wide (83mm x 9mm), the Allett Micro Wallet is ultra compact and a great addition to your EDC, whether you decide to slip it into a dedicated slot in one of the Allett Wallets, or store it in a pouch, bag, or pocket, it’s a super convenient way to have a pen at the ready for signing receipts, jotting notes, or anything else.

Coin Wallet 2.0 – Nylon Edition

The Coin Wallet 2.0 – Nylon Edition is an update to the previous Allett Coin Wallet.

The Allett Coin Wallet 2.0 was packaged in a sort of folding cardboard envelope/sleeve (identical to the packaging of two of the other wallets in this review).

AlletWallets 12

Inside the Allett Coin Wallet 2.0’s package was a pocket that appeared to be made to hold a card of some sort, but the sleeve was empty.  [I found out later, as I opened the other wallets, that this sleeve was indeed intended to have a card in it.]

AlletWallets 13 1 e1754258727541

Materials – The Allett Coin Wallet 2.0 is a variation of the Allett Nylon Original Wallet, which is one of their original designs.   Because this is the Nylon Edition, both the interior and exterior of this wallet are made from weatherproof, tearproof bluesign ®-certified ripstop nylon fabric.  The Allett site states that bluesign-certified fabric “has undergone painstaking supply chain auditing every step of the way to ensure that the processes, factories, and materials are environmentally conscious and as friendly to the environment as possible” which speaks to Allett’s sustainability efforts.  (Note that Allett also offers a Leather Edition of the Coin Wallet 2.0 that has the same bluesign fabric interior, but a Nappa leather exterior.)

RFID blocking – This wallet has RFID blocking technology to help prevent credit card and identity theft.  The Allet site states that they use an “undetectable and nearly weightless US Military-grade lining that is corrosion and wear resistant.”

Colors – Like nearly all of Allett’s wallets, the Coin Wallet 2.0 is available in multiple great colors, but I really like this Cala Green color shown here.

AlletWallets 16 e1754272822487

The main difference between the Allett Coin Wallet 2.0 and its cousin, the Allett Nylon Original Wallet, is a slim pocket on the back with a Velcro closure that can be used to hold small, loose items like coins, keys, and so forth.  More on this below.

AlletWallets 17

Allett utilizes small, subdued logos on the exterior of their wallets, like the “A” logo printed in the corner of the Coin Wallet 2.0 seen above.  In addition, one of the consistent aspects of Allett’s wallets is impeccable cutting and stitching, as you can also see in the photo above.

AlletWallets 15 e1754446371514

The inside of the Allett Coin Wallet 2.0 has a very similar layout to the Nylon Original Wallet, with its 4 card pockets laid out flat, helping give the wallet an even flatter profile.

AlletWallets 18 e1754272996198

The dimensions of the Allett Coin Wallet 2.0 are 5″ x 3.8″ x 0.25″ (27mm x 97mm x 6.35mm), which aren’t much larger than many other types of wallets on the market.  And at only 1 ounce, this wallet is extremely lightweight, owing to both the material properties and the thinness of the fabric.

AlletWallets 20

The Coin Wallet 2.0 has a very deep cash compartment which also has a divider.  Part of the cash compartment goes all the way to the bottom of the wallet and so is suitable for cash of all shapes and sizes from around the world, receipts, notes, or other thin items.  The other side of the divider is a bit shallower, and so it is perfect for storing US dollar bills without having to go diving all the way to the bottom of the compartment.

AlletWallets 21 e1754273115772

Printed in a very discreet location inside the bill compartment is an Allett logo with some information, including the location of manufacture (USA), the origin of the materials (local and global), the US patent that covers this product, and the Allett site URL.

AlletWallets 22 e1754273376906

One of the features that I found particularly interesting about the Allett Coin Wallet 2.0 was that the closure for its outer compartment is made from VELCRO® SLEEK & THIN™ fastener.  This type is made for applications just like this in which a VELCRO product that is significantly thinner( a whopping 60% thinner), softer, more flexible, and quieter than traditional hook & loop fabric is needed.

AlletWallets 19 e1754273163861

The Allett Coin Wallet 2.0 is only 0.25″ (6.35mm) thick when empty.  That’s really thin, especially for a bifold that can hold so many cards, cash, and other contents.

AlletWallets 23 e1754273215416

Speaking of contents, the above items simulate what I actually had in my wallet when I took the photos for this review, so this represents fairly close to my wallet EDC items (I already carry a pretty slim wallet, so I try to keep my wallet contents minimalist).  It’s a total of eight cards, 6 bills, a tiny nail file, a toothpick/dental floss thing, a hair rubber band, and a Band-Aid (a “just in case” holdover from when my kids were younger and that has come in handy over the years).  The only item shown above that I don’t (yet) normally carry but that might become part of my standard EDC if I can find the right wallet is an Apple AirTag.

AlletWallets 25 e1754273256455

Card pockets layout – I like the card pockets layout of the Allett Wallet for two reasons. First, I like it because it spreads the cards out so that they are not all stacking on top of each other. This results in a thinner wallet overall (potentially much thinner, depending on how many cards you place in it), though this does require a larger “footprint” size in your pocket. Additionally, I like that this card placement results in a sort of “hinge” effect between the cards when placing the wallet in your back pocket, which helps a wallet with a footprint of this size to better conform to your…anatomical curvature. Second, I like that Allett made the pocket openings all face inward, toward the center of the wallet.  This secures them much better than having the openings pointing upward or outward, which could allow them to accidentally slide out.

No-Slip grip – I should note that when I previously reviewed the Allett Nylon Original Wallet back in 2019, I noticed that the cards tended to fall out of the slots if I was only carrying 1 or 2 cards in each slot.  Allett has solved this issue by including its No-Slip Grip—a thin layer of silicone in each pocket that provides just a bit of extra grip to help hold the card in place.  Well played, Allett.

AlletWallets 24

In the photo above, I placed all six bills into the deeper portion of the cash compartment to illustrate how deep US dollar bills sit in this spot.  They are quite a way down there.  This is why I switched to keeping my US dollar bills in the other portion of the cash compartment, which has a shallower bottom, forcing US dollar bills to sit up higher, closer to the wallet’s opening.  However, this divided bill compartment with two different depth could allow someone who carries varies type of bills—from multiple different countries perhaps—to store the narrower bills in the shallower portion of this compartment and the wider bills in the deeper portion of this compartment.  Of course, you can also throw all sorts of other things in this cash compartment like receipts or even a small, thin notebook.

AlletWallets 26 e1754274355137

With all of the above items loaded into the Allett Coin Wallet 2.0, it didn’t really get appreciably thicker.

AlletWallets 28 e1754274385171

Between the thinness of the materials and the more spread out layout of the card slots, this wallet just doesn’t get super thick.

AlletWallets 27 e1754274776749

I’m sure a few of you are dying to know where I threw those several loose bits & bobs I showed as part of my typical EDC wallet contents.  Of course by now you’ll have figured out that I placed them quite securely inside the rather spacious VELCO closure coin pocket on the back of the wallet.  I love this feature.  It gives me a place to keep those small items that I found floating around inside my wallet, and it not only keeps them quite secure, it keeps them all separated from the cards, bills, receipts, and other paper items in the rest of the wallet.  And as it turns out, it’s the perfect place to toss my Apple AirTag.

AlletWallets 72

I realized that I’d forgotten to show the Allett Micro Pen being used with the Coin Wallet 2.0.  Allett has designed a narrow slot in the center of the Coin Wallet 2.0 that perfectly fits their Micro Pen.  The shot above is looking into the cash pocket of the Coin Wallet 2.0, with a closeup of the slot where the Micro Pen perfectly fits.

AlletWallets 71 e1754852968879

As you can see in the pic above, the Micro Pen’s pocket hook hangs over the edge of the Coin Wallet 2.0 and into the interior of the wallet.

AlletWallets 73 e1754852940811

The Micro Pen adds minimal thickness to the Coin Wallet 2.0, but it does add to your ability to have a pen handy whenever you might need it.

Travel Wallet – Leather Edition

The Travel Wallet is one of several Allett wallets that is purposed designed and built to keep your wallet items and travel document essentially all in one protected place.

  • Materials =  Exterior: Top grain Nappa leather (also available in a Nylon Edition); Interior: weatherproof, tearproof bluesign ®-certified ripstop nylon fabric
  • RFID blocking = Yes
  • Micro Pen pocket = Yes
  • Colors = pictured here in Merlot color but available in multiple colors are (check Allett site for availability)
  • Capacity =  2-10 cards, cash (US and foreign), receipts, and up to 2  passports
  • Dimensions =  5.375″ x 4.125″x 0.24”/ 136mm x 105mm x 6mm
  • Weight = 1.8 ounce (51g)
  • Regular price = $66 (check Allett site as their may be discounts)

AlletWallets 30 e1754652635684

The Travel Wallet was packaged in a cardboard envelope that minimizes waste and can be recycled easily.

AlletWallets 31 e1754701211104

Materials – The Travel Wallet has been in Allett’s product offering for some time now, and for good reason–it looks great, and it works great.  Because this is the Leather Edition of the Travel Wallet, its exterior is made from top grain Nappa leather, while the interior is made from the same weatherproof, tearproof bluesign ®-certified ripstop nylon fabric as the Card Wallet 2.0 above.   (Note that Allett also offers a Nylon Edition of the Travel Wallet that uses bluesign ripstop nylon for both the exterior and interior.)

RFID blocking – Like the Allett Card Wallet 2.0 above, the Allett Travel Wallet has RFID blocking technology.

Colors – As with virtually all of Allett’s wallets, the Travel Wallet is available in multiple great colors, but this Merlot color is outstanding, and when paired with the vibrant orange Nylon interior, I think this combo is amazingly good looking.

AlletWallets 32 e1754785166101

The Travel Wallet has a style that works well in either a professional setting, such as traveling on an international business trip, or a more casual outing, like a family vacation.  But the Leather Edition’s Nappa leather exterior gives is more of a classic look and feel as opposed to the Nylon version’s more casual style.  It has a very soft, supple feel as well, but without feeling the least bit delicate.

AlletWallets 33

The only logo on the exterior of the Allett Travel Wallet is the Allett “A” emblem that is embossed into the front of the wallet’s lower right corner.  I like that Allett chose to go with this subdued embossing on the exterior of the Travel Wallet – Leather Edition.  The subtle embossing gives a much classier look than the printed logos on the exterior of the very classy Nappa leather.  Additionally, the stitching throughout, as with all of the wallets in this review, is impeccable.

AlletWallets 37 e1754785943674

Opening the Travel Wallet, you can see that the interior is made from the same bluesign ripstop as the Coin Wallet 2.o and above (and indeed all the wallets reviewed here).   The layout of its various pockets allows for lots of versatility in how you carry your most important travel cards, documents, and cash.

AlletWallets 35 e1754845506150

In keeping with Allett’s theme of minimal visible logos, there is only one small logo printed on the interior of the Travel Wallet, which is shown above.

AlletWallets 34 e1754786009629

The Allett Travel Wallet has dimensions of only 5.375″ x 4.125″ x 0.24″ (136mm x 105mm x 6mm), which is just the right size for a passport wallet.  Some companies make their passport wallets with such a large footprint that you wonder if they intend for them to be carried in your pocket or only in a bag, purse, or pack.  Not so with the Allett Travel Wallet, which I was easily and comfortably able to carry in either my back or front pants or shorts pocket.

AlletWallets 38 e1754786054760

And as with the Allett Coin Wallet 2.0, the Travel Wallet has a very generously deep bills compartment, which again has been divided in half, with the inner section being deeper for US bills and the outer section being shallower for US bills.  Of course, other documents like receipts, business cards, and so forth can easily be stored in either section as well.

IMG 0873

As with the Coin Wallet 2.0, printed inside the Travel Wallet in a very discreet location inside the bill compartment is an Allett logo with some information including location of manufacture (USA), origin of the materials (local and global), the US patent that covers this product, and the Allett site URL.

AlletWallets 36

Even with its Nappa leather exterior, the Travel Wallet is indeed slim, but not quite as slim as its all-Nylon counterparts.  The Nappa leather on the exterior adds just a bit of extra thickness, but the bluesign nylon interior helps keeps it slim.  However, Nappa leather exterior notwithstanding, it is still a thinner wallet than many that I’ve evaluated, even with contents inside.

AlletWallets 39 e1754786147523

As with the first wallet reviewed, the above photo shows the items I actually had in my wallet when I took the photos for this review, so this represents fairly close to my wallet EDC items.  The items that are not part of my standard wallet EDC are my passport, the Allett Micro Pen, and an Apple AirTag.

AlletWallets 40 e1754786234344

Card pockets layout – The interior of the Travel Wallet has a very useful layout.  My passport was a snug fit in the angled pocket on the right side.  My cards fit into inward-facing pockets on the left side, and the Micro Pen fits into its own dedicated slot in the center.  The left-angled pocket was a bit of a mystery to me.  Although, as you can see, I placed a couple of my cards into it, I think it’s really meant more for boarding passes, receipts, or other documents to which you might need quick access when you travel.

No-Slip grip – The card pockets in the Travel Wallet also include Allett’s No-Slip Grip feature that helps keep the cards in place and secure.

AlletWallets 42 e1754786304958

The Travel Wallet, like the Coin Wallet 2.0, has a very generously-sized cash pocket, with a divider separating the two halves of this cash pocket.  The deeper portion is perfect for OUS cash, receipts, and other travel items.

AlletWallets 43 e1754786275860

The shallower portion of the cash pocket is perfect for US cash, more receipts, and so forth.

AlletWallets 41 e1754786381739

With my seven cards, some cash, my passport, the Micro Pen, and a few other bits and bobs, the Travel Wallet definitely thickens up, but manages to maintain quite a bit of thinness and cuts down on unnecessary bulk.

Sport Wallet – Nylon Edition

The Sport Wallet is Allett’s version of an ultra-minimalist bifold wallet and has been designed and built to be the slimmest, thinnest wallet with the smallest footprint.

  • Materials =  Interior & exterior: weatherproof, tearproof bluesign ®-certified ripstop nylon fabric (also available in a Leather Edition with leather exterior)
  • RFID blocking = Yes
  • Micro Pen pocket = Yes
  • Colors = pictured here in Charcoal Grey color but available in multiple colors are (check Allett site for availability)
  • Capacity =  2-10+ cards plus cash (US bills fit best)]
  • Dimensions = 3.03″ x 3.75″ x 0.19″ (77mm x 95mm x 5mm)
  • Weight = ????
  • Regular price = $46 (check Allett site as there may be discounts)

AlletWallets 44 e1754787943728

The Sport Wallet – Nylon Edition was packaged in the same type of folding carboard envelope/sleeve as the Coin Wallet 2.0 above.  But the Sport Wallet’s package contained a product features card that was missing from the Coin Wallet 2.0’s package.

AlletWallets 46 e1754788124363

Materials – The Allett Sport Wallet – Nylon Edition one of the earliest of Allett’s ultra-slim designs.  As with the Coin Wallet 2.0 above, because this is the Nylon Edition, both the interior and exterior of this wallet are made from weatherproof, tearproof bluesign ®-certified ripstop nylon fabric.  (Note that, as with nearly all of their wallets, Allett also offers a Leather Edition of the Sport Wallet that has the same bluesign fabric interior, but with a Nappa leather exterior.)

RFID blocking – This wallet has RFID blocking technology to help prevent credit card and identity theft.  The Allett site states that they use an “undetectable and nearly weightless US Military-grade lining that is corrosion and wear resistant.”

Colors – Like nearly all of Allett’s wallets, the Sport Wallet is available in multiple great colors, and is shown here in Charcoal Gray color.

AlletWallets 52 e1754788642961

This wallet has an understand, classic exterior.

IMG 0867 e1754857531907

As with all the Allett wallets reviewed here, Allett has chosen to print a very tasteful, minimalist Allett “A” logo in the lower right corner of the front of the Sport Wallet.

AlletWallets 51 e1754788728439

As mentioned above, the Sport Wallet’s interior layout resembles an ultra-minimalist bifold wallet but has some changes from that classic layout.  While it does indeed fold in the middle, it only has two card pockets which are facing inward toward the wallet’s center, with each pocket able to hold multiple cards as you’ll see below.  Additionally, it has two narrow pockets located above the card pockets, which we’ll also explore more below.

AlletWallets 49

One of the only flaws I noticed in any of the wallets in this review was a slightly misprinted “allett” logo inside the Sport Wallet, as seen in the photo above.  It’s way to close to the outer edge of the wallet to have been intentional, and considering that all the other logos–as well as the cutting, stitching, assembly, and so forth—have all been nearly perfect for all the other wallets in this review, I can only conclude that this was a defect that somehow made it past Allett’s Quality Control department.  At the end of the day, this flaw is certainly not a huge issue at all, it’s just not quite up to the standard set by the overall quality of the rest of the products reviewed here.

AlletWallets 53 e1754788790867

As mentioned above, the Sport Wallet has two narrow pockets just above each of the card pockets, as seen above.  I suspect that by this point, most of you have guessed the intent of these narrow pockets, but read on to find out for sure.

AlletWallets 78 e1754862320848

The Sport Wallet is one of the smallest and most minimalist of Allett’s wallets with dimensions of 3.03″ x 3.75″ x 0.19″ (77mm x 95mm x 5mm).  Easily adaptable to either back or front pocket carry.

IMG 0871

One of the differences between the Sport Wallet and the other Allett wallets reviewed here is that its cash compartment does not have a divider.  While this does help cut down on thickness (by a mere millimeter or two), some folks might miss having that divider to help keep their bills, receipts, and other items organized.  YMMV.

IMG 0870 e1754864193265

The information above was printed inside the Sport Wallet’s bill compartment.  One bit I noted was that the Sport Wallet is assembled in Vietnam, not the USA, like the Coin Wallet 2.0 and the Travel Wallet.

AlletWallets 50

The Allett Sport Wallet is quite slim—one might say wicked slim, as seen in the photo above.

AlletWallets 54 e1754788835603

As we’ve done with the other wallets above, here’s the Sport Wallet shown alongside my standard wallet EDC items, with the Micro Pen added.  You might also notice that I didn’t include the Apple AirTag, as I felt that it was just too thick to appropriately fit into the ultra-minimalist Sport Wallet.

AlletWallets 55 e1754788860247

Card pockets layout – Because the Sport Wallet has only two card pockets, all my typical cards had to fit into them.  Allett claims that the Sport Wallet will hold 2-10+ cards plus cash, and since I was only putting 7 cards into it, they fit without issue.  The Micro Pen fits perfectly into one of the narrow slots above the card pocket, and for additional flexibility, you can place the Micro Pen on either side of the Sport Wallet.

No-Slip grip – The card pockets in the Sport Wallet also include Allett’s No-Slip Grip feature that helps keep the cards in place and secure.

AlletWallets 56 e1754788884605

With my wallet EDC cards, cash, and other items placed inside the Sport Wallet, it really is still quite a slim wallet.  It can easily be use in either rear pocket or even front pocket carry without missing a beat.

ID Wallet – Nylon Edition

The ID Wallet is essentially Allett’s take on a classic bifold wallet with an ID card pocket.  It’s a classic design that’s been done a kabillion times over, but with Allett’s signature style and a few additional useful features.

  • Materials =  Interior & exterior: weatherproof, tearproof bluesign ®-certified ripstop nylon fabric (also available in a Leather Edition with leather exterior)
  • RFID blocking = Yes
  • Micro Pen pocket = Yes
  • Colors = pictured here in Potter’s Clay ucolor but available in multiple colors are (check Allett site for availability)
  • Capacity =  3-12+ cards, cash (US and foreign), receipts, etc
  • Dimensions = 4.06″ x 3.5″ x 0.19″ (103mm x 89mm x 5mm)
  • Weight = ???
  • Regular price = $48 (check Allett site as there may be discounts)

AlletWallets 70 e1754848470359

Like the Coin Wallet 2.0 and the Sport Wallet, the ID Wallet was packaged in a cardboard envelope/sleeve with a product features card inside.

AlletWallets 57 e1754846923901

Materials – The ID Wallet – Nylon Edition another of Allett’s classic designs.  As with the Coin Wallet 2.0 and the Sport Wallet above, because this is the Nylon Edition, both the interior and exterior of the ID Wallet are made from weatherproof, tearproof bluesign ®-certified ripstop nylon fabric.  (Note that, as with nearly all of their wallets, Allett also offers a Leather Edition of the ID Wallet that has the same bluesign fabric interior, but with a Nappa leather exterior.)

RFID blocking – This wallet has RFID blocking technology to help prevent credit card and identity theft.  The Allett site states that they use an “undetectable and nearly weightless US Military-grade lining that is corrosion and wear resistant.”

Colors – Like nearly all of Allett’s wallets, the Sport Wallet is available in multiple great colors, and is shown here in Potters Clay color.

AlletWallets 58 e1754853329219

The  ID Wallet is essentially Allett’s take on a classic bi-fold wallet.  It is very minimalist, which helps keep it slim and also has a small footprint, which helps make it ideal for front-pocket carry if desired.

AlletWallets 59

In keeping with Allett’s minimalist theme as seen on the other Nylon Edition wallet in this review, the ID Wallet has a single Allett “A” logo printed onto its front bottom right corner.  Again, the stitching on this wallet is precise with not a thread out of place.

AlletWallets 63 e1754853405328

The Allett ID Wallet has a very classic bifold shape on the outside.

AlletWallets 60 e1754853448846

As another of Allett’s smaller wallets, the ID Wallet has dimensions of 4.06″ x 3.5″ x 0.19″ (103mm x 89mm x 5mm), which makes it another great candidate for either rear or front pocket carry.

AlletWallets 61

And like the Sport Wallet above, when empty, the Allett ID Wallet is indeed quite slim.

AlletWallets 62 e1754853472897

As mentioned above, the Allett ID Wallet’s interior layout is essentially a classic bifold style.

AlletWallets 64

The ID Wallet has a long, generously-sized bill pocket that runs the length of the wallet and is divided into two compartments, which can be used to separate bills, receipts, or other items.

AlletWallets 65

Above is a photo of the Allett ID Wallet’s more shallow rear compartment, perfect for US cash.

IMG 0872

The above info was printed discreetly on the inside of the ID Wallet’s bill compartment.  Like the Sport Wallet, the ID Wallet is assembled in Vietnam.

AlletWallets 66 e1754853571966

As with the three wallets reviewed, the above photo shows the items I actually had in my wallet when I took the photos for this review (with the Micro Pen added), so again, this represents fairly close to my EDC wallet items.

Card pockets layout – As mentioned above, the Allett ID Wallet has a classic bifold ID wallet style.  It has two card pockets on the left, and on the right is one card pocket and a transparent ID pocket that also includes a thumb slot for helping to deploy your ID when you need it quickly.  Additionally, there is a narrow pocket in the center for a Micro Pen.

No-Slip grip – The card pockets in the ID Wallet also include Allett’s No-Slip Grip feature that helps keep the cards in place and secure.  However, the ID card pocket does not include this feature.

Even when loaded with the items I showed above, the ID Wallet remains quite slim (this pic actually makes it look much worse than reality).

Final Thoughts

Once again, I was very impressed with the design, styling, and quality of each of these four Allett Wallets (and the Micro Pen!).  I could realistically see someone using the Coin Wallet 2.0, the ID Wallet, or the Sport Wallet as the EDC wallet, depending on your needs and preferences.  The Travel Wallet may not be quite as suited for EDC use because it is a bit more specialized, but for travel, it would be a great choice.  For me, I lean toward very small, minimalist bifold style wallets for my EDC wallet, so the Sport Wallet would probably be the one I would use most often on an ongoing basis.  Oh, and that Micro Pen—excellent.  I’d definitely slide that little guy into whichever wallet I decided to carry, because it can be quite useful to have a pen handy and a part of your EDC package.

What I like about this batch of Allett wallets and the Allett Micro Pen

  • These wallets range from very slim to SUPER slim
  • Well designed, useful features and built from durable, tech-forward materials
  • Understated, simple, minimalist styles (and the Travel Wallet looks quite classy)
  • Affordable pricing
  • Micro Pen is crazy small and slim, but well-built and still quite useful in a pinch

What needs to be improved?

  • Nothing–each wallet excels in its own specific function
