Xinborry M10Pro Speaker 11

REVIEW – I have a few portable speakers, including a small, black one that I use in the garage, a round, cylindrical black speaker in the back room, and an over-the-top giant speaker from Costco that’s mostly black. What caught my eye about the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker was its design. It looked like something I didn’t have to hide and would be great to display and travel with. So, I decided to review it first on its looks, but also how it sounded. Was it more about the design or the sound quality? Or was it a good mix of both?

Design and features

The Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker has a sleek wood front panel that looks great on a table or shelf. My Sony portable speaker is all black and sits behind the plants, so it’s not as noticeable. I tested the speaker in different places around my house, and it looked great in most spots. My friends and family even complimented its design. I think the wood face panel with the black speaker cutouts give it a modern, yet retro feel.

On the back of the speaker are a few ports and indicators:

  • AUX input port
  • MicroSD card to play stored content
  • Reset button
  • Battery indicator
  • USB-C port for charging

The top of the speaker has the control keys for power, pairing, volume up/down, and play/pause.

The Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker claims up to 12 hours of portable power, so moving this speaker from one room to another, or taking it on trips, is convenient. It does charge using a USB-C cable. Keep in mind that the speaker is not waterproof, and the main front-facing speaker does not have a protective grill.

One feature that I found interesting, but wasn’t able to test is the sync feature with up to 100 other Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth speakers! The triangle pairing button on the top of the speaker is supposed to link as many as 100 other speakers. This would be a neat feature to have sync music in other rooms or to help project 360º sound.

Xinborry M10Pro Speaker 8

The size of the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker is large enough to accomodate the speakers, but also small enough to still be portable. I’ve included some other items to show a sense of size.

Assembly, Installation, Setup

No assembly is required. Plug in the included USB-C cable to a charger brick (not included) to charge the internal battery. Most people will likely use Bluetooth, but an AUX connection and microSD card are also supported.

Performance

The Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker claims a feature called “deep bass.” It’s got a 116mm woofer, two 45mm full-frequency drivers (tweeters), and it’s powered by 40W (peak). I’d say the bass is more pronounced than other speakers that are similar in size and price. The bass on the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker is way more prominent than other speakers of similar size and price.

Xinborry M10Pro Speaker 7

I connected the speaker to my phone via Bluetooth at 50% volume. Even then, I could easily crank up the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker to full volume without any distortion. It was already pretty loud, so I didn’t need to max it out.

The sound stage of the speaker sounds really good when listening from the front of the unit; however, in an adjacent space, the bass does fall down a bit. Something that I noticed quickly was different. I’m not saying unpleasant, but different. I think what you choose to play through the speaker will determine how much you will enjoy the sound.

Songs with a thicker bass line or with lower frequencies will sound good on the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker. There is enough bass that doesn’t sound artificial. And I think listening to podcasts and spoken word content will also sound very well.

I noticed a lack of detail in the mid-tones, and for most songs this is the main component. It doesn’t sound terrible, but that the highs and the lows seem to be more noticeable. As mentioned above, there is no app associated with the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker. There is also no included equalizer function on the unit itself. With some tweaking on the source system (phone, tablet, iPod, etc.), the mid-tones can be improved.

Final thoughts

Xinborry M10Pro Speaker 6

When I review a product, I usually have a specific use case in mind. For the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker, my main goal was to enjoy music with better range and a stylish look. I’m impressed with both its performance and design.

Is it perfect? No, but for the price and size of this speaker, it’s an easy recommendation or gift to give. I’m thinking of getting another one to try out the audio sync feature…but imagine 100 of these connected? That would be an awesome experiment!

What I like about the Xinborry M10Pro Bluetooth Speaker

  • Looks great!
  • For this size and price, the sound is very good
  • Doesn’t require an app to be installed
  • Can be charged via USB-C

What needs to be improved?

  • To get the most out of the mid-tones, the equalizer on the source system will need to be adjusted
  • Not a big deal, but no charging brick was included
