REVIEW – I reviewed JMGO’s N1 Ultra triple laser projector and was thrilled with the performance! Andy Chen reviewed the N1S Ultra (here), and Julian Perry reviewed their N1 Pro (here). JMGO has released the latest version, the N1S Pro, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! Ooh! I’m so excited!
What is it?
The JMGO N1S Pro is a high-brightness, Google TV OS (with licensed Netflix) video projector with laser illumination and 4K UHD resolution.

Design and features
Yay! It’s here!!
The foam case has a better lock than the previous version and protects the projector well.
The underside of the base has a smooth-rotating turntable.
The power supply is rated at 100 to 240 VAC, drawing 2.5 Amps. Output is 24 volts, direct current, at 7.5 Amps and 180 watts.
The N1S Pro looks very similar to the previous versions. All have an integrated turret that makes table-top use easy but complicates ceiling placement with some planning and maybe a trip to Home Depot.
Sensors and cameras in the face of the N1S Pro automatically adjust for optimal image quality. I was surprised by how quickly corrections occur. Even small changes in the projector’s orientation will affect the image – great for mobile use! For fixed home theater
Two HDMI, one USB, and an audio port are on the back.
The base is not removable and contains the power button and power connection.
JMGO has an app for controlling the N1S Pro, but I don’t imagine I’ll use it much. I much prefer a dedicated physical remote. Speaking of remotes, the one in the box only has Bluetooth. I wish they had included, or at least provided, an option for an infrared for “backward compatibility” with my existing home theater system.
The remote is comfortable to hold, uses two AAA batteries, and is intuitive, but does not have a backlight.
The operating system natively runs Netflix, Prime Video, Max, Disney+, and many more. Finally, a projector that can stand on its own!
There are plenty of configuration options. I saw several references to “lossless zoom” on the N1S Pro. JMGO confirms this is not the case and that they use digital zoom. Digital zoom squeezes the image into pixels at the center of the screen, resulting in a loss of resolution, so I recommend careful planning to maximize your experience.
I was somewhat surprised by the N1S Pro’s audio, which produces bass frequencies ranging to a rumbling 45Hz. At 20 watts for both speakers, it won’t shake the picture frames off the walls, but the audio was delightful for portable sound. The N1S Pro’s speakers are the best-sounding integrated speakers I’ve heard so far. Great Job, JMGO!
With everything powered and pointing in the right direction, and powered up, I walked through the initial setup with no difficulties. I was pleased with the ambient light performance. It’s notoriously tricky to capture the performance of laser projectors with a still camera. With the naked eye, the colors from the N1S pro were more vibrant, and the brightness was comparable with the Vizio 75-inch TV without drawing the curtains. Well done, JMGO!
Moving into a home theater setting is where the N1S Pro shines. I took a few minutes to adjust it to my liking, and the results were magnificent. The brightness was dazzling, the colors were vivid, and the focus was perfect, even in the corners.
Within seconds, cinematic bliss blessed my screen. I genuinely love the N1S Pro projector! Everything I threw at it was crisper than Tokyo tempura, as lavish as London, and more sparking than Shanghai!

What needs to be improved?
- Where’s the infrared remote control?
- Backlighting for the remote’s buttons would be helpful.
- I’m selfish, but I wish it had a shorter throw distance.
Final thoughts
JMGO’s N1S Pro is my new home theater flagship! It’s fantastically bright, produces spectacularly delicious color, and is unbeatable with built-in Netflix! Well done, and thank you, JMGO!
