REVIEW – Last winter was a mild winter for New York. We only got a bit more than one inch of snow for the entire season, and the temperature was above average for most of the season. This year is already proving that it will not be a repeat, and cold temps have already reared their ugly heads. The older I get, the more I hate the cold, and I need a warmer coat and gloves. The iHood Men’s Heated Jacket with 12V QC3.0 Battery features three heating zones, including the hood. It has eight external pockets and two internal pockets. There is a separate inner pocket for the rechargeable. There is a USB-A connector in the battery pocket. Adjustable elastic straps allow the waist and hood to be adjusted to fit, and velcro straps secure them around the wrists.

The Unisex Heated Gloves with 7.4V 3000mAh Battery Pack feature wrist straps for a snug fit and a zippered pocket that holds the battery and the cable that connects the battery to the glove. There is a power button on the surface, and the index and thumb surfaces are touch surfaces, so things like cell phones’ touch screens can be used with gloves on. The included battery charger is a Y charger that allows you to charge both batteries simultaneously.
Performance
Before wearing the iHood Men’s Heated Jacket, you must charge the battery to take advantage of the heated feature. Once the battery is charged to 100%, there is an on/off button on the side that you can use whenever you want to heat the coat or use the battery to charge a device. A pocket on the bottom left of the coat holds the USB-A connection and the battery.
Once the battery is connected, you can press the bottom of the button to turn on the heating function, and then each of the three other sides turns on a section of the coat that you want to heat.
Just as I did with the jacket, I first used the Unisex Heated Gloves with a 7.4V 3000mAh Battery Pack to charge the batteries. The charger has an LED that lights red when charging and green when the batteries are fully charged.
Once the batteries are fully charged, connected, and inserted into the pocket on the gloves, as shown above, you simply press the button on the glove to turn on the heat.
What I like

- The double charger for the gloves
- The touch surface design on the gloves
What I’d change
- The velcro enclosure straps for the hood are way too short (See the video above)
Final thoughts
The iHood Men’s heated jacket and gloves are two really great winter gear clothing products. They are well made, fit well, feel great when worn, and keep me warm on the coldest days. Other than the one issue I encountered where I believe the velcro enclosure straps for the hood should be longer, I have no other complaints. I also love the number of pockets on the jacket. Very well done.
