Five heating zones for extra warmth

Most winter vests rely on insulation to trap body heat. The Venustas heated vest adds an electric heating system that generates warmth across five areas of the garment.

Venustas lists carbon-nanotube heating elements around the collar, middle back, lower back, and two front hand pockets. These zones are designed to warm the torso, neck, and hands.

The vest has three temperature settings. According to Venustas, the heating elements reach approximately 131°F (55°C) on high, 113°F (45°C) on medium, and 100°F (38°C) on low. These are manufacturer-specified temperatures, and actual warmth will vary depending on the weather and clothing layers.

When switched on, the vest begins with a five-minute preheating cycle before automatically changing to medium heat. You can then adjust the temperature using the built-in controls.

Powered by your own USB-C power bank

One advantage of the Venustas heated vest is its USB-C power connection. Rather than requiring a proprietary battery, it works with a compatible USB-C power bank that you supply yourself.

According to Venustas, the vest supports compatible USB-C Power Delivery (PD) power banks with 5V/2A or 9V/2A output, drawing up to 18W. Check your power bank’s supported output profiles before buying—a USB-C connector alone does not guarantee compatibility.

When using a third-party power bank, you may need to switch on the battery manually before activating the vest. Some power banks automatically enter sleep mode, which can prevent the heating system from starting until the battery is activated.

Runtime will depend on the compatible power bank you use and the selected heating level. We don’t have measured runtime figures for this vest, so buyers shouldn’t assume it will last an entire outing on one charge.

According to Venustas, this model does not include a battery. You’ll need to supply a compatible USB-C power bank.

Lightweight enough to wear under a jacket

Heated clothing still needs to be comfortable when the heating system isn’t running. The Venustas vest uses a nylon outer shell with a PFC-free durable water-repellent finish and lightweight FELLEX insulation to help retain body heat.

Venustas describes the fit as regular and hip-length. It could be worn over a base layer or beneath a jacket, depending on sizing and the room available for layering.

The sleeveless design leaves your arms uncovered; comfort and freedom of movement will depend on fit and the other clothing you wear.

The water-repellent finish offers some protection against light moisture, but the vest isn’t a replacement for a waterproof jacket. Heavy rain or wet snow still calls for suitable outerwear.

Simple controls and washable construction

The Venustas vest uses a built-in button to switch between three heating settings. Colored indicators show the selected temperature, with red for high, white for medium, and blue for low.

A dedicated pocket holds the power bank inside the garment, while additional pockets provide room for small belongings. Venustas includes the two front hand pockets among the vest’s heating zones.

The vest can be hand-washed or machine-washed after removing the power bank. For machine washing, Venustas recommends using a laundry bag to protect the internal wiring.

Follow the care label and instructions supplied with the vest, including the recommended drying method. Allow the garment to dry completely before reconnecting the battery.

These care instructions help protect the electrical connections and heating elements during regular cleaning.

Should you buy the Venustas Men’s USB-C Heated Vest?

Who it’s for: Commuters, spectators at outdoor sporting events, and anyone who regularly spends time standing or sitting in the cold. It’s worth considering if your usual jacket leaves you wanting extra torso warmth and you don’t mind carrying and charging a power bank.

Who should skip it: Anyone who wants a ready-to-use kit with a battery included, needs full-arm coverage, or prefers winter clothing without charging or battery management. If an ordinary insulated vest already keeps you comfortable, the electric heating may be an unnecessary complication.
