REVIEW – In case you haven’t noticed in the 25+ years that I’ve been posting reviews on The Gadgeteer, I’m female 😉 and that means that I don’t really like to walk around with a huge knife on my belt (I don’t even wear belts) or in my pocket. But, I like to have a pocket knife for those times when I need to open a box or whittle a slingshot from a forked branch (ok, I don’t whittle…). Bespoke Post recently sent me the Craighill Lark and it might be the perfect-sized knife for my EDC. Size isn’t all that matters when it comes to knives though, so let’s take a closer look.

What is it?

The Craighill Lark is a small pocket knife that has steel scales and a 12C27 steel blade.

Design and features

craighill lark 5

The Craighill Lark is available with two finishes. Stainless steel and the matte Black ($10 extra) that you see here. The Lark is 2.6 inches when it’s closed.

And it is 4.1 inches in length when the 1.5 inch blade is in the open position.

For such a little knife, the all-steel construction gives it a bit of heft. As you can see in the image above, the knife has a keychain loop and a frame lock.

The Craighill Lark knife also has a flipper mechanism to deploy the blade.

When the blade is open, the frame lock snaps in place to securely keep the blade locked in the open position.

Deploying the blade with the flipper is fun and gives it a bit of a fidget toy kind of vibe.

The flipper and the thumb stud make this small knife feel safe and comfortable to hold while in use.

What I like

  • Small enough for the fifth pocket of your jeans
  • Well made all steel construction.
  • Fun flipper mechanism

What I’d change

  • Nothing

Final thoughts

craighill lark 1

The Craighill Lark pocket knife packs a sharp blade in a tiny package that is pocket friendly and fun to use. I haven’t had a lot of time with it, so I don’t know how the black finish will wear over time, but I’ll do an update in a few months after it has a little more mileage on it. As it stands, I like this little knife, and heck, I might even take up whittling!

Price: $78.00 – $88.00
