NEWS – I guess someone thought that putting a new sticker or physical metal plate on your car every 12 months was just too hard, so they created a fully digital license plate. The Reviver RPlate is a weatherproof connected smart license plate for your vehicle that has a monochrome digital display that you can customize with messages and set to light or dark mode.
The RPlate digital license plate can be purchased in a battery or hard-wired version and is currently only available in a tiny handful of states (although you can legally drive nationwide in a car with one of these plates) including California, Arizona, and Michigan.
The price is $215.40/year for 4 years for the wireless version and $275.40/yr for 4 years. I’m assuming that the price is completely separate from your actual yearly license renewal fee. It also seems weird to me that the wired version costs more than the wireless version. Still interested? Tell us why and then head over to reviver.com for more info.

I don’t understand why this is a subscription? Why don’t they just sell it?
There are many things I don’t understand here. What exactly is the benefit for this supposed to be?
My thoughts/questions too.
If these are legal what about producing your own homebrew unit? I imagine you could make your own for less than the subscription cost of four years easily.
