REVIEW – My life revolves around the three C’s; Coffee, Computers, and Cameras. I drink a lot of coffee throughout the day, from 6 am to 5 pm, there’s coffee. Even though I have found the perfect coffee, I’ll never turn down the chance to try out new coffee.
What is it?
Yes Plz is a coffee subscription service that delivers a new blend of coffee each week, delicious, never-repeated-twice blends and superlative single-origin releases.
What’s in the box?
- 340g (12 oz) or 250g (8.8 oz) whole bean coffee
Design and features
Coffee is like many other things in life; different people like it in different ways. There’s only one way to figure out what coffee you like the most; you have to try it.
Yes Plz specializes in ever-evolving blends and select single-origin releases featuring the best available green coffees, meticulously roasted. Each week they create a new roast and ship it directly to you.
You’re able to select your deliveries’ size and frequency and skip or cancel at any time. It’s a great way to try something new, but the only drawback is that you can’t order more of a blend that you like.
I was sent release #114, “Potent Potable” which is described as “With flavors of candied apricot and rum-soaked raisins, the Colombia at the heart of this blend sings sweetly. Adding harmony is a creamy Guatemala and bringing in some baritone is a big-bodied Brazil. A coffee worth leaping out of bed for!” It certainly was delicious, close to what a breakfast coffee might taste like. I prefer a darker coffee, but it was excellent, and my wife really loved it.
Delivered as whole beans, you’ll need to grind the coffee yourself. If you have not done that before, you’re really missing out on the best way to get the most flavor from your coffee.
What I like
- The joy of discovering a new coffee every week
What I’d change
- It would be nice to be able to order more of a particular blend if you find that you really like it
- USA delivery only, Canada coming soon
I like the idea of getting a new coffee to try out on a regular basis. I do wish they had an even smaller batch though.
